    1. The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1; John 20:28; Hebrews 1:8-9).
    2. The Virgin Birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:27).
    3. The Blood Atonement (Acts 20:28; Romans 3:25, 5:9; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 9:12-14).
    4. The Bodily Resurrection (Luke 24:36-46; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, 15:14-15).
    5. The inerrancy of the scriptures themselves (Psalms 12:6-7; Romans 15:4;2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20).

Good stuff! But I would want to add a sixth.
    6. The physical return of the Lord Jesus Christ in glory (Job 19:25-27; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16).

Wait, I downloaded The Fundamentals, and I thought there were 90 essays total. One for each fundamental, right?

Spurgeon and his circle included that in their list:

"We, the undersigned....hold and maintain the truths generally known as 'the doctrines of grace.' The Electing Love of God the Father, the Propitiatory and Substitutionary Sacrifice of his Son, Jesus Christ, Regeneration by the Holy Ghost, the Imputation of Christ's Righteousness, the Justification of the sinner (once for all) by faith, his walk in newness of life and growth in grace by the active indwelling of the Holy Ghost, and the Priestly Intercession of our Lord Jesus, as also the hopeless perdition of all who reject the Savior, according to the words of the Lord in Matthew 25:46, 'These shall go away into eternal punishment,'—are, in our judgment, revealed and fundamental truths. Our hope is the Personal Pre-millennial Return of the Lord Jesus in glory.

    C. H. SPURGEON..."

Yes and the danger (if you can call it a danger) leads to folks wanting to add more and more to the 5 until one has a creed or a Statement of Faith or a long document e.g. a church constitution.

We are Baptists supposedly a non-creedal people.

IMO a Statement of Faith seems to be what is called "a necessary evil".

But we have one, in fact we have a Church Constitution which we are amending because of modern social evils which the 100 plus year old constitution does not cover. Same gender marriage, LGBT issues, etc... Things never even dreamed of as church issues 100 years ago.

That is why some hold to a formal Conession of Faith, like 1689, to avoid falling into errors understnding scriptures!
My church has a statement ofbeliefs, and also have a l book that pastor created on basic doctrines, some 256 pages long!

    Fundamentals of the Faith?
    Who determines what they are?
Who determines how many there should be.

At Calvary University in a Church History class this was recounted: The Fundamentalist movement that brought forth the Five Fundamentals came out of the Niagara Bible Conference 1883 - 1897:

The Five have differed a little bit here and there, separate the virgin birth and the deity of Christ expanding the list but drop the #5 we see above.

Does your denomination? Is the NABC Fundamentalist?

Is every denomination that could honor the PCUSA Five, or can fiddle with it into another Five as HankD describes, to be considered Fundamentalist?
