‘Fact-Checker’ Snopes Caught In The Biggest Fake News Scandal Of The Year

Snopes.com has been allegedly fact-checking articles on the internet since 2002. By 2005, reports that the site had an obvious liberal bias began to surface. They fought back by claiming they were non-political Canadians, but it was discovered that the original founders were actually Democratic activists who raised money for Al Gore.

In 2006, they sold the site to supposedly unbiased reporters who spent the next year making sure all of their articles were indisputable in order to build their credibility. Now, more than 10 years later, Snopes is used by news organizations and social media platforms to determine what is fake news and what is not.

This morning, after an extensive investigation by Fox News at the request of the White House, it was proven that Snopes doesn’t just have a liberal bias but has been establishing itself for years for the sole purpose of providing counterintelligence against the next Republican president.

Now that Trump has won, conservative news has been being tagged as fake news by Snopes in staggering numbers. In conjunction with Facebook, Snopes has become how fake news is flagged. After this morning’s revelation, Snopes is reportedly shutting down and printing retractions for nearly 1500 pieces of conservative news that was purposely flagged as fake to hide the truth from the American people.

Sure would be nice if the article had some data and information to back up the claim.

Oh and let this sink in:
This morning, after an extensive investigation by Fox News at the request of the White House

Where's the link to the Fox investigation? Snopes.com is still up, BTW.

The establishment "News" is dead on the vine (ABC,NBC,CBS,MSNBC, etc....).

They are blind to the fact that when they release their obvious Fake News, very LITTLE credibility is given them by the masses and the populace is turning away from them.

I NEVER watch these on TV or go these sites anymore but go to The Drudge Report and check out SEVERAL news sources both domestic and foreign in the Drudge list to see how these prevaricators have twisted and wordsmithed news to make it fit their agenda.

Ah, now the story makes sense.

It was picked up from the lastlineofdefense.org, whose site carries this disclaimer:

The Resistance may include information from sources that may or may not be reliable and facts that don’t necessarily exist. All articles should be considered satirical and any and all quotes attributed to actual people complete and total baloney. Pictures that represent actual people should be considered altered and not in any way real.

So we've come full circle: An admittedly fake news site accused another site of being fake — and people believe it. Gullibility reigns supreme. Maybe the OP should check out things before posting fake news repeatedly.

Not only is it fake news but the site referenced in the OP is full of porn photos on their home page. Yuck!

Here is how USA Politics Now is reviewed:

A questionable source exhibits any of the following: extreme bias, overt propaganda, poor or no sourcing to credible information and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for the purpose of profit or influence. Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact checked on a per article basis.

I've used Snopes usefully in the past, but at the same time always wondered who was fact-checking Snopes!

Me 2'. We know Santa is not patrolling if your naughty and nice but some of the more debatable I have wonder concerning veracity of snopes and when we are considering half truths and confusing data would not the investigators bias be the determining factor.

I'll be bet my mortgage that the honorable Rev. Mitchell simply walks away from this thread without owning it.

When reading Snopes, it's not very hard to tell when they are struggling to make a statement or an article appear true when it's not, and vice versa.

They really struggle at times to make it come out the way they want it.

Their attempts are transparently laughable most of the time. Liberal bias, absolutely.

There might be a perceived liberal bias because right wingers create and circulate more fake email and Facebook stories. Therefore they get more attention and there is more debunking to be done. The appearance is that Snopes is mostly debunking right wing fake news stories.

You can always click on the links they used to gather their data and judge for yourself as to its accuracy.

That's how you can tell they're biased. It's not hard. And I'm not surprised to have it confirmed by more than one source.

Snopes, which will now have the power to declare what news is or is not legitimate on the world’s largest online platform, almost exclusively employs leftists.

Facebook announced Thursday that mythbusting website Snopes will be one of a few fact-checking organizations allowed to label stories as “fake news.”

Almost all of the writers churning out fact checks for Snopes have a liberal background, and many of them have expressed contempt for Republican voters. The Daily Caller could not identify a single Snopes fact-checker who comes from a conservative background. Snopes did not respond to a list of questions from TheDC regarding the site’s ideological leaning.

At least two of the site’s fact-checkers joined Snopes after writing for Raw Story, a far-left publication that describes itself as a “progressive news site that focuses on stories often ignored in the mainstream media.” Several others have demonstrated liberal partisanship.

And the sheep are just supposed to accept as truth anything these left wingers say. :Roflmao

Their typical MO is to take any left wing story and try to make it stand up and try to make any conservative story into a lie anyway possible.

"After this morning’s revelation, Snopes is reportedly shutting down and printing retractions for nearly 1500 pieces of conservative news that was purposely flagged as fake to hide the truth from the American people."

Caught again.

I see we are doubling down. So Snopes can now "declare news fake" whatever that means and apparently Facebook has this power to grant this authority (whatever that means). I think the reason you hate Snopes is that they shoot down your Breitbart and Blaze articles like fish in a barrel. Kind of hilarious to see you all that up in arms over the truth here.
