Veteran of Southern Baptist Calvinist ‘reformation’ reflects on success
When he arrived at the 1984 Founders Conference in Memphis, Tenn., Dever said the existing Southern Baptist Calvinistic world “could have met in an elevator booth.”
The movement turned a corner in 1993, with the election of Dever’s longtime friend Albert Mohler as president of Southern Seminary, pledging to uphold the “confessional faith” of founders including Abstract author Basil Manly Jr. and the first president, James Pettigru Boyce.

It is amazing to watch the path of reformation rather than the often used path of heresy that many denominations follow over time. Mohler and crew should be commended for their dedication to biblical teaching.

As someone who worked in the elevator industry I have no idea what one thinks an "elevator booth" is. I can tell you there is no such thing.

Southern Seminary may be pumping out reformed folks but I think this so called "success" is over played. The average church in the SBC doesn't even know what a calvinist is.
