If you were to have the authority to name a church, what might you use to identify it as both the assembly of believers and doctrinal view?

Some that come to mind is:

    Master's Sheep Pen of Baptists

    Faith Baptist Church

    Believers Baptist Church

    What might you choose?

But seriously, I would stick with ((place name)) Baptist Church

If I had absolute authority to choose the name, I'd probably go with a "not-a-name" concept, such as "a church meeting on Oak Street." The sign on the street might just say "A Church Meets Here." To avoid the generic trickery that some use, we might put underneath that certain descriptors:

    Baptist
    Independent
    Pan-Millennial
    Missionary
    Anti Missionary Auxiliary

I like geographic names such as Webster Street Baptist, Metro Baptist, Sea Cliff Baptist, etc.

I pastored First Baptist Church of Spring Valley in suburban San Diego because it was the FIRST, BAPTIST CHURCH, in SPRING VALLEY.

Kind of a "truth in labeling" thing. :)

So what is the meaning - when a Baptist church changes it name to Bible, community or some other non-descriptive name

You will have to ask them. I have never changed the name of a church.

I've never been part of a church that dropped "Baptist" from its name. The two reasons I've discerned the most when I've seen this done is (1) they ceased being Baptist, or (2) they don't want to advertise (up front) that they are Baptist.

To my suggestion above about using only a descriptor (location-wise) and the word "church," I based that on the idea that the churches of the Lord don't have a "proper name" per se. But "truth-in-advertising" and being upfront would be some reasons for putting identifiers on the sign below. (Though I used a little humor in the identifiers -- such as pan-millennial, because often see IFB signs that say premillennial -- I was actually serious about the concept.

Here's one that sort of does what I am talking about, though they use "Baptist" in the name, put the identifiers on top, and waste letters/space by using "independent" twice.

Hmm, "faith and order" what order? infralapsarian or supralapsarian?

    Or something else.

You now there is a story behind that sign.
I would love to hear it!

They have one called “Liquid” here in the great state of NJ. Far as I can see, it’s a New Age blend (give the people what they want) creature... google it if curious.
