You saw the Baptist Confession of Faith section 19 quoted in its affirmation of God's Ten Commandments - were you so confused that you did not know good from bad?

You saw D.L. Moody quoted in his affirmation of God's Ten Commandments - were you so confused that you did not know good from bad?

You know about Seventh-day Baptists -- were you so confused that you did not know good from bad?

You know about believer's baptism -- were you so confused that you did not know good from bad?

You know about the 66 books of the Bible and sola-scriptura testing of all doctrine...were you so confused that you did not know good from bad?

You see - vitriol and false accusations are not the "great solution" that you may have at first imagined them to be.

NONE of those people that you quote, nor the Confession itself though see the law and especially the Sabbath as the SDA does!

I quoted section 19 of the Baptist Confession of Faith verbatim and we both know it.

Your false accusations and fictions are not at all supported by the actual facts in evidence.

The fact that I as a Seventh-day Adventist hold some views that differ with Baptists has never been challenged - but your gross false accusations can't simply be swept under a rug using that as an excuse.

The fact that I do not agree with section 21 of the Baptist Confession of Faith - does not require that I oppose everything they wrote. Hence my acceptance of section 19.

    The point remains.
    --------------------------------------

I have given example after example of confirmation -- of the fact that God's TEN Commandments are included in the moral law of God written on the heart.. and we both know it.

Tyndale1946 (Glen) and I have DENOUNCED, on this Board, Ellen G. White's heresies. Paul warned of teachings of demons in the Last Days. (1 and 2 Timothy) Repent, and "earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 3

False accusations are a dime a dozen. Christ and Paul were confronted with them all day long.

    Nothing new there.

Paul warned of teachings of demons in the Last Days. (1 and 2 Timothy) Repent, and "earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 3 --- as a form of rebuttal against false accusations and false doctrine.

You may enjoy reading what they wrote

You do know that the Apostle John was last inspired person Jesus sent to His church, that the teachings of Ellen White are non scripture based in many regards, that you insist a true Christian MUST keep the Sabbath as saturday, Moody and the like NEVER taught that as truth, and that the SDA states that we can never be sure if really are ever saved?

I do know that he was the last inspired writer in the NT.
I do know that you just made up the statement above and that you do not have an exhaustive record of very Christian that lived after John finished the book of the Gospel of John.

What part of that is confusing?

Aside from making stuff up in general - do you claim that you agree with Moody's statements about the Sabbath and the Ten Commandments?

If so -- I think this is the first time I have heard you express such affirmation.

Are you really serious about that - or simply gaming?

Because if you are serious - we are going to look at "the facts".

Jesus promise of being inspired by the Holy Spirit ONLY extended towards His Apostles, from Jesus Himself!

Moody and those other ascribing to the 1689 Confession would NOT see Sat as the Christian Sabbath, unlike the SDA!

Is this your way of saying you agree with D.L. Moody's statements on the Ten Commandments and the Sabbath?

Yes.. or no... or include some very precise caveat if you prefer.

    ======================

Same question for the Baptist Confession of Faith -- do you agree with what it says about the Ten Commandments?

    ==============

As for me - I agree with them except on the idea that any of the Ten Commandments could be edited. They may think that one can be... I would argue that none can be edited

I agree that the Christian is under a day or Worship, but it is NOT the Jewish Sabbath!

You are not well informed about Moody's history!

Moody never said to worship on Saturday.

And, unaware to most, the success of his ministry was due to having
received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, long after his water baptism.
Unlike others, he did not speak in tongues; but like Peter in Acts 2, he
was given the gift of powerful oratory; because of the Baptism, the
    crowds swelled to record numbers.

Likewise, Spurgeon received the Baptism later in life, and his ministry
    was greatly expanded, too!

Well.. "worship on Saturday" is not a statement you find in my post above.. as you will probably agree with me.

I never argue that Moody and/or Spurgeon were not genuine Christians.

So then you argue in favor of all TEN of the TEN Commandments included in the moral law of God - written on the heart under the New Covenant of Jer 31:31-33 and that the Sabbath commandment is still binding ?? (only edited to point to some day other than the one God spoke of in Exodus 20:8-11)??/

    THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

    BY THE
    DWIGHT L. MOODY

    The Ten Commandments:
    Exodus 20:2-17

    .
    The Fourth Commandment
Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the LORD made heaven and Earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath Day, and hallowed it.

THERE HAS BEEN an awful letting-down in this country regarding the Sabbath during the last twenty-five years, and many a man has been shorn of spiritual power, like Samson, because he is not straight on this question. Can you say that you observe the Sabbath properly? You may be a professed Christian: are you obeying this commandment? Or do you neglect the house of God on the Sabbath day, and spend your time drinking and carousing in places of vice and crime, showing contempt for God and His law? Are you ready to step into the scales? Where were you last Sabbath? How did you spend it?

I honestly believe that this commandment is just as binding today as it ever was. I have talked with men who have said that it has been abrogated, but they have never been able to point to any place in the Bible where God repealed it. When Christ was on earth, He did nothing to set it aside; He freed it from the traces under which the scribes and Pharisees had put it, and gave it its true place.

"The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath." (Mark 2:27)

It is just as practicable and as necessary for men today as it ever was- in fact, more than ever, because we live in such an intense age.

The Sabbath was binding in Eden, and it has been in force ever since. The fourth commandment begins with the word remember, showing that the Sabbath already existed when God wrote this law on the tables of stone at Sinai. How can men claim that this one commandment has been done away with when they will admit that the other nine are still binding?

I believe that the Sabbath question today is a vital one for the whole country. It is the burning question of the present time. If you give up the Sabbath the church goes; if you give up the church the home goes; and if the home goes the nation goes. That is the direction in which we are traveling.

The church of God is losing its power on account of so many people giving up the Sabbath, and using it to promote selfishness.

    .
    HOW To OBSERVE THE SABBATH

"Sabbath" means "rest," and the meaning of the word gives a hint as to the true way to observe the day. God rested after creation, and ordained the Sabbath as a rest for man. He blessed it and hallowed it. Remember the rest-day to keep it holy.
    ...
Sabbath-breaker, are you ready to step into the scales?
    ==========================

    I list D.L. Moody as a pro-Sunday... Sunday observing pro-Ten Commandment preacher.

Yet he knows that in the OT the Sabbath Commandment - as God gave it -- was all about Saturday and began in Eden and the commandment itself is binding on all mankind. He just thinks it can be edited to point to some other day -- after the cross.

Do you agree that we are saved by grace alone thru faith alone, and that it matters to God not one bit what day we honor unto Him?

    Agreed.

However it DOES matter to God if we take His name in vain -- even though that commandment is never quoted in the NT.

    Do you agree with that?

And do you agree with the Baptist Confession of faith - and also D.L. Moody that all TEN of the TEN commandments are written on the heart under the NEW Covenant since they are all included in the moral Law of God for all mankind?
