the law cannot be changed. The SC might be taken over and rule otherwise but it would not be lawful and many would not recognize it as such.

I thought that militia was considered to mean the citizens?

It doesn't matter what people recognize - the law itself can be changed. If you can't recognize that fact then I'm sorry, but you are very wrong.

I agree, however, that many (to include many Christians) would not recognize a change in tbe law they see as unfair and unconstitutional. But their disobedience would have no impact on the law itself (or on God's command they would be transgressing).

In the United States we do not have the individual right to determine the constitutionality of laws. For example, if you believe laws against heroin violate your pursuit of happiness, well tough. It's still illegal.

Evil government for sure. The left worldwide wants gun control. The next step is to reduce the food supply and starve people into submission, as in Cuba, Venezuela, and North Korea, for examples. And today as Venezuelans are fleeing starvation to get into Colombia, Brazil and Guyana, Cuban revolutionary agents and Maduro agents are part of the tens of thousands of people fleeing the starvation in order to infiltrate and overthrow the host country--a lot like what is happening in Europe with the phony Muslim refugees who are loaded with ISIS agents and other jihadists.

I would. My faith comes before unjust laws. Jesus commanded His disciples to arm themselves. I did.

No, "militia" means militia. It could be implied this is a secondary individual right to own guns to that end.

Self-defense and proper weapons are endowed by the Creator because governments, and the twentieth century is a leading example, become evil and persecute their own citizens. In the long run, only armed citizens can keep the government somewhat honest.

I do. My right to life is God given, and my right to defend that right to life is also God given. The Constitution does not grant me the right to keep and bear arms, it recognizes my God given right to do so.

I am not talking about a ban on swords...that'd be just plain heresy.

Please provide Scripture supporting this idea.

It has already been ruled an individual, not a state, right by Heller v DC. It has been incorporated to the States by McDonald v. Chicago.

So one does have a God-given right to own a weapon.

    Definition of MILITIA

Remember, the Constitution was written in English. It said "militia".

I think that it just meant able-bodied citizens--your second definition.

Jon, I suggest you read U.S. Code › Title 10 › Subtitle A › Part I › Chapter 12 › § 246. It tells us what the militia is according to federal law.

I do not believe we have a God given right to own a weapon. I don't believe we have God given rights to liberty either (probably because this is specifically mentioned in Scripture). But we do have liberty in Christ.

Common defensive weapon of the day. In that day it was a sword. Today it is my AR-15. God's word does not rest on stupidity.

God did not intend for us to automatically live lives in bondage to Nimrod, who is thought to have been Sargon. God wanted us to be free and to have rights. God gave us free will.
