    In detaining Lauren Southern.

The UK welcomes in Islamic terrorists, but stops, detains and expels a 22 year old Canadian girl. They questioned her Christianity! Imagine if they did that to a Muslim!

The way they treated this poor girl is shameful, especially in light of how they bend over backwards to protect (which leads to promotion), Islam as some members even here on BB continue to do.

This is essentially Great Britain's support and enforcement of Islamic blasphemy laws.

Not much different to what has happened to the rest of Europe, Canada, and the US. They are just a bit ahead of us in this area.

They are 20 years behind us in dentistry, and 20 years ahead in Marxism, aka, Socialism.

I'd say they are ahead of us in not being overly obsessed with straight teeth and white teeth -- no offense to you Baptist dentists out there. ;)

When the post-Trump government purchases 300 million moslem prayer rugs its time to be concerned.

If she thinks they acted unlawfully, she's welcome to bring an action for judicial review in the high Court against the government. We'll see whether the judges agree with her (and you); until then, it's pure opinion and hyperbole not 'proof'

My wife is from England. Because of the "Free" dental care she received there she had gum disease at the age of 35. After dozens visits to dentists, oral surgeons and orthodontists, and about $12,000 we have her all fixed up. Thanks, NHS!

I'm very happy with my dental care on the NHS; I have no cavities and all my teeth at the age of 48. Thank you indeed, our NHS!! #proudtobeBritish

Brian, sorry to hear about your wife's experience. My comment really had nothing to do with the actual dental care available in the UK, but to a difference in mentality of Americans and Brits about their teeth. (And this only applies to the extent of my experience.) But everyone I know from the UK -- and I see these folks on a "regular random" basis -- do not seem to be obsessed with the aesthetics of their teeth as many Americans seem to be.

No, we're not: as long as we have them and they work, we don't mind

With all due respect, chalking up gum disease to the failure of a dentist is like blaming being overweight on a Dr. during an annual checkup. That ball is 99% in your home court.

Thanks. I understood what you were saying. It's simply that many Brits are brainwashed into thinking there is is such a thing as "free", and that their system is great. Unless and until they live in the US, they haven't a clue. Since my wife is from the UK and her family is still there, she has a perspective on these things.

The British don't care what their teeth look like because their expectations have been lowered by the NHS, which is running out of other people's money (aka, free) to perform proper dentistry. Once they get enough money and sense, they get their teeth fixed, like Ricky. You must admit, his choppers look a heck of a lot better now. His "fangs are gone.

Finally, straight teeth work better and last longer. It's not just about aesthetics.

The NHS is running out of money because it is underfunded and we have too many Boomers to look after who pay too little tax.

Yup. The standard Liberal answer: "We didn't fail. We just need more of your money."

I am not objecting to straightening teeth that need to be straightened, but from what I can tell much of the braces and whiteness fad in our country is about vanity -- and money. But if that's what someone wants and he or she has the money to do it, let them go for it. I'm all for freedom, too. (Not so much, if they're doing it with my money.)
