In fundraising speech, Trump says he made up facts in meeting with Canada's leader
He boasted to donors in Missouri that he told Justin Trudeau that the U.S. runs a trade deficit, without knowing if it were true.

President Donald Trump boasted in a fundraising speech Wednesday that he made up facts in a meeting with the leader of a top U.S. ally, saying he insisted to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that the United States runs a trade deficit with its neighbor to the north without knowing whether that was the case.

“Trudeau came to see me. He’s a good guy. Justin. He said ‘No, no, we have no trade deficit with you, we have none.'

'Donald, please’, Trump said, mimicking Trudeau, according to audio obtained by the Washington Post. “Nice guy, good looking guy, comes in — ‘Donald we have no trade deficit.’

'Wrong, Justin, you do.’ I didn’t even know. ... I had no idea. I just said ‘You’re wrong. You’re wrong, Justin.’

He said, ‘Nope we have no trade deficit.’ I said, ‘Well in that case I feel differently,’ I said ‘but I don’t believe it.’ I sent one of our guys out, his guy, my guy, they went out, I said ‘check because I can’t believe it.’

‘Well sir you’re actually right. We have no deficit but that doesn’t include energy and timber … '

The United States Trade Representative office says the United States has a trade surplus with Canada.

It’s a fundraising speech, where he’s joking around. Too bad you can’t appreciate his candor, & in fact, brutal honesty. Trump people love that about him. You know, regular guy stuff. I personally don’t like typical politicians blowing smoke up my rear, but that’s just me. BTW, does anyone take Trudeau seriously after his embarrassing India trip? I felt sorry for Canadians.

Well that's not quite what happened there, Trump assumed the facts. He sent someone out in a meeting to check....when you figure it all in it is 17 Billion btw.

So if he was making up facts, he checked in the middle of the meeting.......so not sure how you can spin this?

I said nothing about the article, I merely posted it. I did not indicate one way or the other about his candor or brutal honesty.

Right you are! You just posted it. How careless of me to take it as a Trump bash. My apologies, I’ll be more careful to color inside the lines next time. Meh.

And this surprises you? Honestly it scares me.

Why should you be scared over something involving Bollywood star Justin Trudeau?

The government of Cuba officially denies that Justin Tredeau is the love child of Fidel Castro in spite of the uncanny resemblence.
The 1st thing that will tip you off there is something is he’s French Canadian, then he eats copious amounts of soy (a soy boy)... then he is a Canadian.
