NFL Team Signs Male Cheerleaders

Looks like the NFL has gone completely bonkers with the L. A. Rams signing two male cheerleaders onto the squad. Yep, no doubt about it, that is just what your average rabid football fan wants. Do they really think this is going to increase attendance at the stadium and viewers on TV? Good grief!

Los Angeles Rams' male cheerleaders make NFL history
Quinton Peron and Napoleon Jinnies, named to the Los Angeles Rams squad this week, will be the first ones to perform the same routine as the female dancers. The Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts have men who perform stunts with female cheerleaders, but don't dance.

Peron and Jinnies are both classically trained dancers and have been performing their entire lives.

This is what I thought formula one should have done instead of banning grid girls. Just make the whole thing more balanced in gender and less about selling sex and more about professional promotion of the product.

Cheerleading as a competitive sport has always been a dual gender thing. It makes sense to do that if the NFL wants to appeal to more women.

Only at college, after that and into the modern era it was female cheerleaders only in the pro league. What is the NFL now trying to do, get the LGBT crowd to start watching since they have lost so many of their normal base of fans? It is hard to believe that team owners who are usually astute businessmen are going in this particular direction.

Maybe its a difference in culture, but here in Texas, nearly as many women watch NFL football as men. In my home, my wife is much more of an NFL fan than I am. During the season, she will watch three to four games a week, while I usually watch one or two.

I stand corrected. Well they didn't last long - the Cowboys were known for their beautiful female cheerleaders, not the male ones. Again, this new incarnation is not going to bring back the folks disgusted with footballs new "social justice" policy.
