So let me get this straight. Trump sends staffers to scout the place out and they reported that it was the perfect location. He did this on the taxpayers dime just to bait dems and get free advertising? That’s almost worse than the conflict of interest of having it their in the first place. What a great article. Basically cements that he is abusing taxpayers dollars for his own business ventures. Way to go.

 

Let me see if I'm understanding you... You think Trump floated this idea of having the meeting at his hotel complex knowing that people would object to it, knowing that the idea would be turned down, and he did this just to wind up Democrats?

It shows what the priority is for people like kyredneck. Running the country should come behind screwing around with the Democrats.

 

I happen to think that Trump has the ability to screw around with the Democrats, and the press, and still do his job, but in this case I think Trump was seriously proposing using his facilities and was shot down. Plenty of Republicans said it was wrong.

But now the spin is that he meant to propose this knowing he wouldn't get it, just to throw something in his detractor's faces. I'm not buying it.

The “no downside outcome” is kind of funny after the week he has just had.

Am I getting “spun up.” No, just having a laugh at the thought of your article somehow making him look worse and you thinking it makes him a genius.

 

He was serious alright but Trump is also aware that there is no such thing as bad publicity when it comes to self-promotion.

Is there anyone with the wherewithal to stay at Trump's Doral club that doesn't know it exists?

Are there any heads of state that are unaware of it? That don't already have an opinion of it?

According to Use of Time the place had to scouted out on the taxpayer dime...so apparently an opinion needed to be established by someone. I think Trump knows what is there already before he dared make the offer.

I would have thought so too but I sat on the couch listening in disbelief while watching Trump’s Chief of Staff Mulvaney explain it to the press so it’s not exactly a liberal news outlet there.

Speaking of people having a tough week that guy has got to be on thin ice with Trump.
