Same as the RCC. One's the Eastern Orthodox the other is the Western Orthodox.

Three measures of meal. (1) Protestant (2) Romanism (3) Russian Orthodox. All three have elements of leaven (false doctrine) some more than others. All have some true believers.

I wouldn’t say they are the same, nor would they, but they have many similarities. The Orthodox do not have a pope, and being Greek do not have all the same heroes of the faith nor abide by all the councils of the Latins. Unlike many Protestants, neither care for the Hebrew OT (Masoretic Text), which does not include the Apocrypha.

I view them as I do other groups. They are Catholic but not Roman Catholic. They can contribute to Christianity but like Anglicans and Presbyterians I have disagreements with their theology.

They have a translation based upon the LXX then? And they seem to equate the Church fathers as almost equal to the scriptures then?

They seem to hold though to Infant regeneration, real presense of Jesus in Communion, and to sacramental graces, so are they really a true Christian church?

This is an interesting topic. Free-will Baptists do not hold to the same soteriology as you affirm. Does that mean they are not a true Christian church?

I do not believe that the church exists in this type of organization. So I'd say that the church exists within both Orthodox and Catholic congregations. I think that even Presbyterian Churches (who hold to infant baptism) and Lutheran Churches (who hold to at least a presence of Jesus in Communion) can be classified the same way. The problem is not Christ in these denominations but the human element. I personally believe that I cannot judge them (they are Christ's servants, not mine). But I can examine and opine about their doctrine.

There are areas where the Orthodox Church holds a position much closer to Scripture than Reformed Churches (they hold a lot of Scripture as literal where as Reformed Churches stick to doctrine developed by reforming Roman Catholic doctrine). But there are also areas where they hold tradition over Scripture. All churches do this. Reformed churches are indebted to Luther and Calvin, But in many ways their doctrine remains indebted to the Roman Catholic Church (even if, like with the Five Points, it is in form of response).

There are saved persons with both Orthodox and Catholic churfches, but saved in spite of the bad and wrong theology both hold with, same as in Lutherans and free will baptist churches!

And both catholics and orthodox from what I can see would equate the teachings and doctrines of the church fathers as binding and authority essentially on par with the scriptures!

    I agree.

But we also have to consider that Reformed Churches do the same. They hold the theology that was derived from the Reformation to be, essentially, on par with Scripture. This includes Roman Catholic Doctrine "once removed" (reformed Roman Catholic doctrine). This become obvious in theological discussions (the "plain teaching of Scripture" is one stark example - what is meant is not what is written but what appears to be "plainly taught" in accordance with a particular tradition).

The thing is Christians can learn from other Christians (without adopting their doctrines as a whole). It is very easy to see the error in other groups, but it is very difficult to see our own error (or potential for error).

I would have to say though that the reformers did rediscover the true Gospel that God uses to save us with!

They discovered the gospel that they had lost (the gospel itself was never lost).

That is what people need to realize about the Reformation. There were people outside of the Roman Catholic Church, uninfluenced by Roman Catholic doctrine, who held the gospel of Christ.

The Reformers were still hampered by faulty theology. God used them in a wonderful way, but at the same time they carried with them poor doctrines and traditions.
