A new study theorizes that wearing of masks can reduce the severity of COVID infections and therefore create low level asymptomatic infections in individuals which will lead to herd immunity.

    Briefly:
Universal masking reduces the “inoculum” or dose of the virus for the mask-wearer, leading to more mild and asymptomatic infection manifestations. Masks, depending on type, filter out the majority of viral particles, but not all. Asymptomatic infections may be harmful for spread but could actually be beneficial if they lead to higher rates of exposure. Exposing society to SARS-CoV-2 without the unacceptable consequences of severe illness with public masking could lead to greater community-level immunity and slower spread as we await a vaccine. Our theory is based on the likelihood of masking reducing the viral inoculum to which the mask-wearer is exposed, leading to higher rates of mild or asymptomatic infection with COVID-19.

Masks Do More than Protect Others during COVID-19

Exactly. This study suggests that mandatory mask wearing by 100% of Americans would lead to a less severe individual exposure (not non-exposure) that would lead to herd immunity.

    peace to you

Virus replicates to the load of either killing the immune system or the immune system killing it. We sure get a lot of junk science nowadays.

Yes, and amount of the virus you are exposed to is a factor.

Of the known cases, that might correct. There have been studies that suggests the exposure rate might be up to 20 times greater than what is reported.

If that is true, recovery is well above 99%.

    peace to you

"To determine the infection fatality rate in Arizona, we divided the percentage of the state’s population who had died from Covid-19 as of July 30, 2020, by the 12.9% of the population that was infected based on antibody testing between July 20 and July 26, 2020. Antibody testing captures the total percentage of the population that had been infected with Covid-19 from the beginning of the outbreak. We then calculated and applied a standard correction factor for the delay between case diagnosis and death. This yielded an infection fatality rate of 0.63%, which is not significantly different from the CDC’s best estimate of 0.65% for the U.S. in the Spring of 2020."

from Is Covid-19 growing less lethal? The infection fatality rate says 'no' - STAT

    No mask.
Keep safe distance, wash your hands, cover your sneeze or cough. Keep hydrated, take vitamins and eat your fresh vegetables.
Live life and get on with it.

Most importantly, KNOW JESUS, because you're all gonna die anyway.

No apology needed - just messing with Rev.

Yes, Madison county does have a 96% rate - Rev said there is a 99% recover
so when I said he was "way off" I was just funnin!
In the Link below - it says we have had 17 deaths
several of those infected was from a new company in town
who had hired sever immigrants - who were living
four to a 2 bed motel in town. (and that was several months ago)

That it would be better to be inoculated by a few hundred virus particles as opposed to thousands wherein the body has more time to prepare and is not overwhelmed should be common sense. I've been saying this is a good reason to wear a mask for months.

Could be just another lie to promote the wearing of masks. It's also an unintentional admission that masks are not all that effective at preventing the virus in the first place.

That is point of the study, I think, which I found interesting. It acknowledges masks do not prevent exposure, but suggests the exposure will be less severe, allowing for widespread exposure, over time, with less severe symptoms.

Sort of like the ol chicken pox parties, where kids are intentionally exposed to get it over with.

So, open everything up, everybody wears a mask, and lets be done with this disease.

    peace to you
