    I'm just going to come out and say I'm pulling for ACB. Do I know anything about her? No. But triple names with single-syllable letters are hot right now in politics. You've got AOC, and of course the late RGB.

    That said, anyone familiar with these choices? Favorites?

    1) you know the canidate will be a female - libs will demand that.
    2) take Cruse off the list - he is needed in the Senate at the moment
    with seniority he is # 63. I guessing after the election, he will move up about 5 spots

    Yeah, I would imagine that's the only way to go, right now. It's a shame, but a political reality. I don't mind the court being diverse, so long as they're all strict constructionists. Otherwise, they're dictators.

    I don't think the libs demands are going to carry as much weight as before they've spent their energies on impeachment, Kavanaugh debacle, covid overreach, riots, election stealing, etc., conservatives have toughened/wizened up a lot, ready to fight.

    I would think FEMALE VOTERS would be the actual motivation to nominate a woman..

    Barrett would be good, I think it comes down to logistics. The easier to confirm, the better. Some are saying Lagoa will be a more difficult nominee to block.

    Who is Barbara Lagoa? Trump hints at her to be RBG's replacement...

    She was confirmed much easier than Barrett to her current position. While Trump has every right to nominate and the Senate every right to confirm, there are political considerations, and there will be only one shot. Trump knows this.

    That said, quality is not negotiable.

    The choice would make ultimate sense:
    What it all comes down to

    "Yes (or should I say Si?). There's a Cuban American woman (Barbara Lagoa) on his list of nominees who has an impressive resume and is a Rule of Law judge. She was just vetted for an 11th Circuit position last December and this same Senate voted her in 80-15! She should sail through - unless all those Dems who voted for her in December are hypocrites........."

    ...and should help to carry Florida, what's not to like?

    Well, We Know Where Sen. Lamar Alexander Stands on a SCOTUS Nominee

    Potentially 4 republicans may not vote to confirm. Can only afford to lose 3....
    Lamar Alexander gives good reasons to vote to confirm, there is no reason not to do this. But politicians are political animals.

    Republicans have a slight Senate majority, 53-47, so there's not a whole lot of room for Benedict Arnolds in the upper chamber when it comes to getting things done. All eyes immediately turn to Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Lamar Alexander (R-TN), Cory Gardner (R-CO) -- the weak links that Democrats are currently targeting to try and loosen McConnell's grip on the Senate.

    Nothing, so far. I like what I see. And ACB had a much tougher confirmation vote. This is going to be a close one, and Trump can't make any mistakes.

    Again, the thing that stands out is Logoa's easy confirmation. The vote for the others was much more narrow. And seems she's been vetted, both at the state and federal level. I have a feeling some serous additional vetting is going on right now.
