Recently a person who seems to hold some Calvinistic views, said God and Jesus were racist. I thought he alone was off the wall, but it occurred that his belief was perhaps rooted in Calvinism.

As you know, many Calvinists claim God does not "love" the whole world, but only the elect. Thus John 3:16 really means God loved the elect of the world in this way, He gave His one of a kind Son...

Thus limited atonement claims Jesus died for the elect only, and could foster the belief God and Christ had no affection or concern for the world. They were in favor of Jews, and the Elect, but made no provision (other than destruction in the Lake of Fire) for all the rest.

Does any other Calvinist claim God was biased against everyone else because you believe Christ did not die for them?

You didn’t establish the person who made such an outrageous statement was, in fact, a “Calvinist”, but only that they “seemed” to you to hold some of those views.

Since you have repeated demonstrated you are unable to accurately state what “Calvinists” believe, any conversation would be meaningless regurgitation of well known positions.

    peace to you

Perhaps instead of making disparaging remarks, you should have asked for the link to where the statement was made? :)

Apparently this Calvinist does not think God and Christ are racists, because the claim was called "an outrageous statement."

Does any other Calvinist claim God was biased against everyone else because you believe Christ did not die for them?

This thread doesn't even deserve a discussion. Lame attempt by an anti-calvinist to try and discredit Calvinism based on outrageous claims.

Folks, behold the candor and clarity of Calvinists, unable to say "God and Christ love all mankind and are not biased against any human.

Nope, that would require treating others without bias or malice. Food for thought...

No Van, your post was a ridiculous assertion that you twist things to make them look in a different light. Here is the deal. God has chosen some to save, and others He has chosen to not save. It has nothing to do with race, status, etc, and is perfectly on His good pleasure. That's the reality of it. If you don't like it, tough.

The first fatal error you make is attempting to judge God using the moral standard of man. Everything God does is just and perfect. If it does not align with your standard, your standard is wrong.

Well I am glad you do not claim God or Christ is racist.

Because God loves mankind, God chose to give His one of a kind Son so that everyone believing into Him will not perish but have eternal life. Every day God is choosing some individuals to save, by spiritually placing them into Christ. If you do not like it, you should study to show yourself approved.

Is that your answer? Addressing me and making false charges. The Calvinist leaning person was "attempting to judge God" and did not accept "everything God does is just and perfect."

Does limited Atonement doctrine provide the basis for other absurd beliefs like God is racist?

My view is God loves all mankind, and that is why Christ died as a ransom for all, even those never to be saved.

Does Unlimited Atonement provide the basis for for absurd beliefs like God cannot exist?
    • God is by definition OMNIPOTENT (all powerful).
    • If God atoned for all sin, then all sin has been forgiven.
    • If someone goes to hell, then their sin was not atoned for.
    • If God attempted to atone for all sin, but all sin was not atoned for, then God is not omnipotent.
    • Since God must be omnipotent by definition, but God is not omnipotent in reality, then in reality, God does not exist.
Does Unlimited Atonement provide the basis for for other absurd beliefs like Universalism?

Does the Lord HAVE to be saving all lost sinners, is it wrong somehow if he chooses a way that you do not support?

If I am not mistaken it was me who made the statement that God and Christ were racist. I gave Scripture to support my statement, I make no apology for it. I have no problem with being racist, or with God being racist.

In America 'racism', slavery, hate, inequality, bias, are identified as 'evil'. Thus American Christians must bow to this PC ideology. This means God must not support slavery, hate, bias, or inequality. This means they must interpret the Bible in light of their acceptance of this PC ideology.

So they have, and so they do.

I do not base my beliefs on Calvinism. I base them on Scripture.
