I have seen re-negotiated NAFTA, which was said couldn’t be done. I have seen opening of energy industry, deregulation, manufacturing jobs coming back to U.S, (which was said would never happen), real wages increasing, unemployment rates at historic lows for all people, stock market at historic highs, constitution believing judges, a reduced tension with North Korea, peace treaties between Israel and countries in Middle East, NATO countries increasing founding of the institution, pulling our troops out of endless wars, Communist China being challenged for unfair trade practices, and on and on, win after win for the American people.

I am very Conservative (though not Tory, here in the UK), but fail to undrestand the structure of your country, where these "mayors & governors" of states that simply do as they please, even though the federal government might say and do otherwise? It is rather idiotic that as a country, the USA is not really "united" because of these rather silly ways that things are done. Here in England the left-wing "mayor" of London has tried to do things his way (like in BREXIT), but has failed because our central government makes the "rules"! Looks like the US is 50 countries sharing the same landmass!

 

Well, maybe. But since I prefer coffee to tea (that whole Boston tea party thing) I guess we will have to keep it like it is.

I don't think that McDonalds in central Indiana has tea, hot scones and clotted cream.

 

The difference, I think, is our constitution sets up a separation of powers, allowing States to exercise powers not specifically given to federal government.

Personally, I think the Fed gov has overstepped into states rights on many issues.

Many Americans loath the idea of a “central government” dictating rules to everyone, a one size fits all approach.

It has been called a 50 state experiment in democracy. We trust the people to decide what the “rules” should be.

On a side note, I have always been skeptical of the idea of “royalty”. However, I recently learned your queen worked as an auto mechanic during WW2. I was so impressed, I decided the queen is cool after all. She rocks!!! You can pass that high praise on to the queen next time you see her.

Many years ago, I was in Jerusalem during my military service. I had a lengthy negotiation for a silver necklace, with a man of Arab background. At one point, he brought out a sweet bread with a bowl of cream. It was very good.

I guess all cultures have their favorites.
