Definitely hypocrites and apostates exist, but they leave the faith for the filth of this world, proving they are not of US, not everyone has faith.

Just why did Paul seek God by adopting the Reformed view? No deep commitment on his part, just viola and you are a christian? Do the Reformed belief in order to be an actual Christian, you must be born anew? Or do they think if you profess belief, you have been given faith and therefore you are elect?

We believe that the saved are not just professors, but possessors of eternal life in Christ!

So Paul Maxwell although claiming not to be a christian is still according to Reformed Theology a born anew believer. Got it.

BTW, why did other Reformed indicate he was apostate?

IF was actually saved, do you think one can forfeit and lose eternal life?

Only empty suits answer questions with questions.

So Paul Maxwell although claiming not to be a christian is still according to Reformed Theology a born anew believer?

Folks, a person (tare) can profess belief and love of Christ, and such behavior does not result from being enabled to overcome total spiritual inability.

[Mat 7:21-23 KJV] 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

    What a dumb question.
You rarely appeal to scripture, but instead cry "Calvin" as though that is a valid argument against God's word.
Show us how the scripture provided is wrong. Show us how Paul failed to express God's word.

Remember the rich young ruler who departed all sad? Well, Calvinist Arthur Pink says that he had to have repented later, as Scripture says that Jesus "beholding him loved him" when he'd come to ask his question. Pink: "The fact is, the love of God is a truth for the saints only", "we fully believe that he was one of God's elect".

I always thought the man came to be a believer because Christ also immediately after says this, with God all things are possible, so even though he had so many riches, that will not prevent God from saving someone.

20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”

21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”

26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Can you buy it? Can you reach out and take it? Is it a gift of God?

If you have it, can you rid yourself of it?

What made it possible for man to be indwelt with it?

From above - 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
