Trump Gets Big Win As FEC Drops Investigation Into Stormy Daniels Payments

Former President Donald Trump got a big win today from the Biden administration when The Federal Election Commission ruled to close its probe into whether Trump broke election laws by allegedly paying $130,000 in hush money to Stormy Daniels.

Trump said of the move, “The Federal Election Commission in Washington, D.C., has totally dropped the phony case against me concerning payments to women relative to the 2016 Presidential Election. It was a case built on lies from Michael Cohen, a corrupt and convicted lawyer, a lawyer in fact who was so corrupt he was sentenced to three years in jail for lying to Congress and many other things having nothing to do with me.

I thank the Commission for their decision, ending this chapter of Fake News. Between two sleazebag lawyers, Michael Avenatti and Michael Cohen, we were all able to witness law and justice in our Country at its lowest,” Trump added.

Then you really are dishonest and lack integrity with regards to your view of Trump.
That's nonsense. I listed a long list of potential legal issues. The fact that the Republican members of a committee decided not to pursue Trump does not mean he was innocent, or even that the matter is closed. It certainly changes nothing else.

How does a single FEC decision change the following potential legal liabilities?
  • tax evasion
  • fraud in obtaining loans
  • attempting to coerce election fraud (the phone call to Georgia Secretary of State is one example)
  • perjury in his written responses in the Mueller investigation
  • obstruction of justice in the Mueller investigation
  • obstruction of justice in lots of other circumstances
  • conspiracy to defraud the United States (his actions to undermine the Postal Service)
  • money laundering (lots of suspicious activities with Russian money)
  • conspiracy to bribe foreign officials to interfere with 2020 US election (Giuliani is likely to turn on Trump and reveal more evidence)
  • conspiracy to attack Congress (Giuliani is likely to turn on Trump and reveal more evidence)
For people who can think logically for themselves, it clearly does not.

However, I suspect you just want an excuse to make the claim that I am "dishonest and lack integrity with regards to [my] view of Trump" because of deep personal needs to lash out.

If Trump is charged and arrested for ANY of these remaining items on the list, will you admit your 'dishonesty and lack of integrity regarding your own view of Trump?'

I doubt it.

Yeah you posted a long laundry list for which there was no actual evidence for. Good job.

There's a fair amount of evidence in the public domain for the tax issues, perjury in his written responses in the Mueller Investigation, obstruction of justice in the Mueller investigation, conspiracy to bribe foreign officials to interfere with the 2020 US election, and conspiracy to attack Congress.

I realize that many Trump supporters ignore it, but it is still evidence.

And thank you for the "good job." It's nice to get affirmation from you once in a while. I interpret that to mean that I refuted your previous statement in a satisfactory way.
