In light of Aaron's thread about when God stops loving people, I'd thought I would throw this one out there. After all, if there is a chronological termination for his love, then there would logically be a chronological initiation for it as well, right?
(Psalm 90:2 & Psalm 93:2) God knows not the responsibility nor of the burden of time for he is Eternal, without beginning and without time.
(Mal. 3:6) Our God is a never changing God!
God is the past and is forever in the past.
God is the future and is forever in the future.
God, our Omnipotent Father, whilr in the past and the future is present, right this moment,, Time means nothing to God, he created it!
For the sake, for the good of man, God created the Time/Space Continuum that makes the existence of man possible and without Him, there is nothing!
Thus, though men want it to be, there was no beginning of God' s love for mankind and, Praise God, there will be no end there-of!
Praise His Holy Name.
So let me get this straight...God will have an everlasting, enduring love for those who He personally casts into hell?? o_O :eek:O O Cautious  Cry   Frown
That is what He does to His sheep when they act unruly, out of line. The goats, which were never part of His everlasting, age-during(YLT states it like that) love, He will cast into hell Himself.
Hebrews 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
12:10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
I can attest to one thing I have taken many trips to the Lords woodshed but speaking of my own father I've gotten away with many things as I was growing up. The Lord knows our frame and when we need correction and how and when to apply the correction when needed... Wait till your father gets home doesn't apply here... You know the rod of correction is coming you just don't know when... The Lord deals with his children as sons and daughters and all his children are partakers and the scriptures further states...
We can lay claim being sons and daughters that we belong to God and the chastening was for our benefit even though grievous at the time drew us closer to our Father because of his Holy Love!... Brother Glen
You're being short sighted here.
Love does not end with pronouncement of punishment.
When my youngest was hooked on Crack, I cast him out onto the streets at seventeen because he would not try to straighten his life up and he was not raised to be a crooked leech on society.
I loved him enough to break my own heart and before he made twenty-one, he was a good man, with a Felony Record but he returned to his senses.
And God, when He had created Adam, God said he was a good thing.
And then, when I killed men with an M60 machine gun in the mid and later sixties, i didn't hate them and to this day I worry over their souls.
You are juding this on the natural level and it does not reside there, it is spiritual.
th1bill, you are conflating eternal punishment, reprobation ,with chastisement, in my opinion. Hell is not where God's children receive chastisement. That place is reserved for all those who eternally remain outside of Christ, outside of God's eternal, age-during love.
I don't think the uppercase belongs there. God's chastisement is for His children, and it purifies them. Chastisement is temporary, and occurs here on earth. Hell is not chastisement. Hell is for the Devil, his angels and his children. Burning for eternity, but never purified.
