Can you only imagine how many young lives were ruined by these men? How horrible.

It's a tragedy. When you add to that the number of young people abused by Baptist, Methodist, Adventist, Episcopalain, Muslim, etc ministers it makes you wonder what's going on.

ALLEGED is a politically correct term used even when the cops see a blood covered gunman, with gun smoking in hand, standing over a warm dead body....
It doesn't matter which denomination the abuser is from, it's a travesty, but a denomination that forces men to not marry invites pedophilia.

This is NOT a celibacy issue.

Justified Saint,
The one statistic that you mentioned in your post I also saw this morning while at Lehigh University this morning. The statistic dealt with Catholic priests and their not so good activity with minors. Some had confronted more than thirty persons through the years.
Maybe if more of these men were prosecuted the news media might let up on the Roman Catholic Church.
These very flawed men should have been expelled from the church rather than shuffling them to another parish.
I, personally, have heard too much about this; it pains me deeply. -
"but a denomination that forces men to not marry invites pedophilia."
Actually it invites those types that don't want to get/can't get married. Especially in a society where the unmarried are not taken completely serious.
Some homosexuals, ornery bachelor types, terminally shy people etc.
Just like Eastern-Orthodox Christianity attracts men who don't like to shave. ;) -

I, for one, would love to see some stats about pedophile preachers from non RCC faiths that were moved to another church, instead of facing charges. Any takers ?
And shame on Diane Tavegia ? Exactly why ? She's right on the money. -
Brother Curtis,
If Mary could peak through the clouds from Heaven I wonder how 'the Queen of Heaven' feels about her erring priesthood? She probably would be saying, "Hey, get married like I did." -

Brother Curtis,
If Mary could peak through the clouds from Heaven I wonder how 'the Queen of Heaven' feels about her erring priesthood? She probably would be saying, "Hey, get married like I did." After all, Mary was of the royal lineage coming from King David, via, Joseph her husband. [Matt. 1:16], a higher authority than the Roman Catholic Church. Without God being born through Mary there would be no church on this earth. Is the Magisterium of higher authority than Jesus and His decretive, directive dictated through the Apostle Paul in I Timothy 3:2 by forbidding a good man in the priesthood to enjoy a conjugal relationship with a woman after marriage? -
There must be a flaw in the system because my post did the same thing as with Mioque's writing on the Baptist Board.
My full post should have read like this.
