And he has campaigned in all of them?

There are plenty of reasons to vote against Senator Obama. Why must we resort to this kind of tactic?

You know you could not find nor create one legitimate link with me to Islam. And the same could be said of millions of people. Yet, although small, there seems to be a good number of links with regard to Obama. Add to that we know that Islam wants to take over America and they are morally justified under Islamic law to lie in order to accomplish their goals. I do not know that he is moslem. But I do have suspicions. And I am keeping a close eye on him. And that is legitimate as anything else. It is simply untrue that it is nothing more than a tactic. The concern and the reasons for that concern is real.

Good post. Interesting there are 57 islamic states. Freudian slip, perhaps?

it might have just been a slip too - as has been stated.

no fan of Obama here.

But I'm not perfect and I've made so many slips in the classroom that I should not have made. You'd think by the time I'd delivered the same lesson 999 times, I'd have it down, but noooooo. Some how, I still manage to mess something up. ;)

This "link" is a bad joke. Especially, in the context intended.

The list considers some countries where the Islamic population is fewer than 10% as "Islamic".

It is one thing to consider Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and Qatar, for examples as "Islamic States", for they undoubtedly definitely are, in one form or another.

It is another thing entirely to consider Guyana, Suriname, and Brunei-Darussalam as "Islamic States" considering that there is fewer than 10% of the Population that could in any way be considered as Islamic (with no real political power) in two of them and less than 20% in the third.

To my thinking, if it were 'just a slip' then his number would not have been 57, the number of Islamic states. How do you miss the number of US states by that many.

You are thinking 47 - since he said something like, "That leaves one more, plus Alaska and Hawaii." 47 pus 3 equals 50.

Some on folks - do you really think this guy had in mind the 57 "Islamic States?"

I can't beleive Senator Obama, Bitsey, and I are the only ones ever to slip up while speaking.

I'm no Obama fan, but I'm sure not going to crucify him for a slip of the tongue. We all do it from time to time.

Just last Sunday, when quoting Matthew 19:26, and I said, "With God all things are impossible." Did I know that I said that? No. But my wife did!

I'm not encouraging you to vote for him (he's pro-abortion), but you might want to cut him some slack. Remember, he's not the Messiah!

I was finishing a funeral service once and told the crowd that the service would conclude at the Gethsemane Seminary. Since I was in Seminary at the time, I jokingly called it Cemetery. Yup, that one came back to haunt me!

All in all, since theres proof of what he may have meant to say, whether or not it was a slip of the tongue or not, I can't believe it amounts to a whole lot. Again because theres no proof one way or another.

Your slip of the tounge had a personal reference, you said seminary, and were in seminary.

You asked "How do you miss by that much" (or something similar)

I answered [you miss that much] by thinking 47, but saying 57. His mind said "47" his mouth said "57." It happens all the time if you speak much in public.

East slip of the tongue. Kind of like me saying there were 80 billion people in Poland instead of 80 million.

BTW, I have heard MUCH worse from preachers :).

Here, Ed. Here's a better link:

The 57 states are the nations in the Organisation of the Islamic Conference.
