To clarify, the Philadelphia Airport isn't in South Philly. It's in Delaware County to the west of Philadelphia. The Navy Yard, which I believe is all condos now, is about as South Philly as you can get, though.

I also remember there was a bar near the airport where we did a bunch of Parrothead events and that always had great bands. I can picture the place like it was yesterday but I can't remember the name of it.

It was the Lagoon in Essington, Pa. Don't know why I remembered that all of a sudden in the shower this morning. Don't know why I felt compelled to come back and share it, either.

In the past I have been pulled over at checkpoints and patted down (Fayetteville, NC), and on at least one occasion when walking through an area that was experiencing high crime rates. I did not resent this. Well ok I did resent it at the time. Was just responding to post #44 in which it was stated that Blacks resent stop and frisk. Welcome to the club. It's not part of The Black Experience, it's just life.

Did not mean to imply you were coming out of a bar, but you are correct. Being out late does draw the attention of law enforcement officers. For a lot of different reasons.

I believe it should. Criminals like the cover of darkness. Does that mean everyone out late should be searched? Of course not. But it does increase your chances of coming into close contact with law enforecment officers. Just reality. If they are interested in doing their job.

Yes, and being older and wiser I agree. Crime does go up late at night and cops have always been suspicious of anybody out and about.
