From Neal Boortz:
Very well-said, IMO:
Here's the way I see Obama. Nice stuff first:
He's probably an exemplary family guy. Adores his wife and children. That's wonderful. Can't fault that.
Now .. the rest:
I believe Barack Obama suffers from megalomania. Look up the definition and tell me I'm wrong.
I believe that Barack Obama was raised pretty much from the get-go to distrust and even despise Capitalism. He has no working concept of what it takes to create and run a business in a free market economy.
I believe that Barack Obama worships the God of Government. He believes that America's greatness comes from government, not from the dynamic of millions of people living and interacting under a system of economic liberty, personal freedom and the rule of law.
I believe that Barack Obama looks upon himself as a ruler rather than a leader.
And finally .. I believe that Barack Obama presents a profound threat to the country that gave me the opportunity to succeed and live freely. I want those same opportunities for my granddaughter, and if Obama maintains his present level of control over our government that won't happen.
Therefore; I believe that this year's mid-term election is the single most important election in my lifetime. On November 2nd Americans will decide which road America will take; the road back to liberty, limited government, individual responsibility and self-reliance, or the road to bigger government, womb to tomb security, limited economic freedom and reliance on government.

What Mr. Boortz fails to explain is how are we going to "take the road back to liberty, limited government, individual responsibility, and self-reliance" in the midterm elections when the two choices (R or D) are anti-Constitutional, liberal, big government crooks?

Some are, some are not.
A big problem is longevity which brings power.
We need term limits.
We also need committeemen at the local level who help nominate those who run for Congress.
If only we all did our part...

I talk monthy with a guy that is working in the Rep. party here in OR.
They are flayling in the wind to "WIN" rather than set the party direction and pick men that are going that direction for candidates though they are questioning men in detail but I am not sure the party knows where it is going except "to win" and I don't know that that will cut it to make change.
That is what they have been doing for years and here we are.

Yep. It's not about right or wrong. It's not about issues. It's not about creating a stronger, better, more self reliant country. It's all about power and the politicians just want to keep as much power in their grubby little hands as possible.

Anyone who wants the job must be crazy. I think that is why the best people in Congress never run.

The key is NOT the general election...

THe key isn't the general elections...it's the primaries. We Americans have been lazy with regards to research and choosing our congressmen.
We must choose very, very wisely...but I think that in most seats, there are a fewgood choices. But we must look for them carefully. I do agree, SN, that party affiliation does not in any way guarantee us with a decent representative.
I'm sending the text belox to any and all candidates in my district.
Hope they'll sign it.
#1: Tell the truth! Quit lying to us, or feeding us half-truths. And yes, you guys have lied just like the D's. Maybe not as much...maybe not as many "whoppers," but face it: We don't trust you very much, and it's because you're not very trustworthy.
#2: Every last one of you soundrels pledge: No more than 3 terms for house folks, and 1 (or I could maybe live with 2) terms for senators. Sign your name to it...and agree to be pubilcly called out (and summarily fired) if you break this promise. Most of your problems are that you're more worried about re-election than doing the job you've been called to do.
#3: Enforce the stinkin' 10th amendment. Not to mention 1-9...but a re-emphasis on 10 would cover a multitude of sins.
#4: Pass the Fairtax...or something close to it. Quit making our tax code worse by tweaking a 45,000 page behemoth, which only adds to it.
#5: End Abortion--at the very least, allowed only if the mother's life (not health, but life ) is in danger.
#6: Take a 10% pay cut every year that the budget is not balanced. Better yet, pass a balanced budget amendment...a real one.
#7: Dismantle several of these bloated fiefdoms that rob our freedom and ruin our republic. Start with repealing Obamareidelosi-care. Then move to the Department of Education. Better yet, just keep removing stuff your whole time you promised to serve. I doubt you finish before it's time for you to go home.
#8: Post bills online three days before a vote. Have a one-page synopsis written by a member of both parties, to be placed with the bill, so that bills that are hopelessly cross-referenced and lingoed to the teeth can be understood by literate Americans.
#9: Quit gerrymandering districts! Both of you losers (D's and R's) do it, and it is a fundamental cause of our problems. Currently, the D's are trying to figure out how to cram as many R's into one district as possible...and we've got some D districts (particularly majority-black ones) that have a fraction of the numbers of folks that others (in the same state) do. Many of us are terribly under-represented.
#10: Start doing stuff because you care about America and it's future. Half the crap you guys do, you're doing to get a photo-op, or you're doing to needle your enemy. Start doing the right stuff for the right reasons, and you might find out we appreciate it!
#Bonus: Make the stunning realization that it isn't your job to make people be nice. It isn't your job to keep people from making bad decisions. It isn't your job to make people eat carrots instead of chips. It isn't your job to turn all of us into saints. And it's not your job to insulate us from any and every bad event that takes place in this cruel world!! Just fulfill your constitutional role, for crying out loud, and quit this "utopia-building" ego kick you've gotten on.

Our forefathers, as brilliant as they were, never foresaw this day, the day when we'd have so few statesmen in Congress and so many politicians.
