Is the Kingdom a literal 1000 year Kingdom? is the number figurative? Will Christ actually reign on earth? Is Post-mil true?

What we do know is that there will be a Kingdom, and Jesus will reign. However, if Jesus isn't reigning in yours heart now, any future reign is immaterial. -
If we can't look at plain English and decise whether the prophesies of Christ's Kingdom are Literal or Figurative in nature, then how will we be able to determine if anything in the Bible is literal? English is not that hard.

Lacy, discernment is required. First, Revelation was purposefully written in symbolic format, since it was written from a jail cell where every outgoing communique was monitored.
Second, there is no doubt whatsoever that revelation contains symbolism. For example, most people would agree that the seven headed beast with ten horns is a symbol for something else.
Third, you're talking about things that haven't happenned yet. It's left to sheer speculation. Just ask Hal Lindsey how many times he's been right. I can count the number on less than one finger.
Fourth, Jesus said to not worry about tomorrow, and let tomorrow worry about itself. We have yet to master the first coming. What makes you think we're experts with the second? -
I don't think anyone can state categorically that his interpretation in eschatology is the correct one.
I personally think that Christians should simply agree that Jesus is coming a second time and stop arguing over their narrow interpretations. -

Lacy,
'Day of rest' never called, 'a thousand years' in the Bible. Neither, 'seventh day' called, 'a thousand years' in Bible either.
In Christ
Rev. 22:20 -Amen! -
I don't teach or believe in a literal 1000 year kingdom anymore then I believe in a literal chain and key!
-
Do we believe in a literal Anti-Christ any more? Maybe we need not fear being decieved at all??
We should be very wary of spiritualizing things in the bible. -
James, I don't "believe" in things that have not hapenned. The ONLY DOCTRINAL REQIREMENT that we're required to adhere to is that Jesus will come again. I know that Jesus is coming again. I don't know the details surrounding it. I have some iseas, but ideas are not to be doctrinal statements. Arguing about the details is frivilous, because we don't know the details.
-
Who comes up with these requirements? Is that another 'fundamental of faith?'
-
We are commanded to study, and rightly divide the word of truth. Arguing isn't frivilous if it causes us to carefully study God's words.
Thy kingdom come...
-Sammy -
The arguement here is not that I believe it. The arguement here is that I must believe it according to another person's interpretation, and that if I don't then I must not believe it.
Believing that Jesus will come again is different than believing in only one possible scenario of that coming.
The arguement isn't over God's words. The arguement seems to be over accepting specific possible scenarios. Those scenatios are not God's words. -
Interesting Freudian slip for a
millinnial exclusionist
(for the humor imparied:
the "millinnial exclusion" teaches that
some "saved for eternity" children of God,
saved by grace persons will be tortured
in a hell-like place during the Millinnial
Kingdom of Jesus. Hense the play on
words "A Literal 1000 tear" Kingdom"
insted of the needed 1000 year Kingdom.) -
