I will reveal the source of this quote later. I would appreciate your thoughts on it first.

Upon opening his eyes a child should see his parents and they should teach their child about God, country, and family. -
C4K, Sounds like Rouso(sp) a Frenchman I think, from the 1800's, who didn't like societies way of confining mans moral grounds. Liked the free spirit of unrestrained thought, and that man was, at the base, good. Not at all what we know from God's word. God or any spirituality is glaringly missing. Seems collective, socialistic, maybe communistic.

I just read you post Dragoon, and I'm too late to delete mine. You're right, if we're not both wrong. I wrote a paper in Jr. high eons ago about him. I just Googled him and he's the one I wrote on, but not necessarily the one, or about whom, C4K was refering.

I do not like it ...

I was hoping for anonymity of the post to last a little longer ;) .
Is it the place of the school, as Rousseau suggests, to teach patriotism? -
Sorry C4K, I realized that to late.
I think patriotism is to be absorbed in the day to day learning of America's roots....ideally. But it doesn't happen that way today.
The teachers colleges today turn out environmentally, and politically correct history revisionists, who's socialistic aim of civil utopia is (whether realized or not) destructive to America.
The vast majority of American educators are liberal, and the ones deciding curriculum are very steeped in political philosophy that requires the dumbing down both educationally and monetarily of America, to even the playing field on the global scale.
The public school system is, for all intents and purposes, the religion of secular humanism. We need to separate that church from the state. -
Google is one of the best inventions since Gore's Internet! Bush must have made this improvement! The only problem with Google is the wealth of information still not available on the Internet. It tends to give people the false comfort that if you can't find it on the Internet don't bother going to the library. -
It should not be the role of the state to "teach" its citizens. It is the role of the citizens to teach themselves begining with their own children.

Amen. The power to educate is the power to indoctrinate and ultimately control and enslave.
Schools should teach children to love their country and distrust any central government.
