The Bible tells us that Adam and Eve were made on the 6th day. God rested on the Seventh (Saturday). How long do you think Adam and his wife walked about Eden?
Total guess, but not long. perhaps a few days or weeks. She did not become pregnant until after the fall so this is why I say it was most likely not long.
We don't really know do we? Adam had a job to do and the Bible said he did it. He named all the animals. There is no way he could have seen all of God's creation in only one day. It is very possible that propagation would not have been a thought even though God said to do it. Maybe Eve was too busy gathering fruit while Adam named the animals as they filed by. :smilewinkgrin:
I put one month...though it could have been several. It was not more than 9 months. On the 6th day, they were told to be fruitful and multiply. We have nothing to tell us they were not obedient to that command.
I chose a decade, because it could have been a few years.
To the posts about sex: We can't think that our corrupted apetites are anything like their pure ones were. They were naked and not ashamed, and didn't try to hide their nakedness until their eyes were opened. They did not look at each other as we do today.
Perhaps, but uncorrupted emotions, and you cannot possibly imagine what that is like. One thing is for certain, it wasn't anything like the issues of your corrupt and sinful heart.
We may be surprised. I find it interesting that as soon as they ate of the fruit they realized they were naked and were ashamed and that the curse was I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception;
Genesis 4 1Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, "I have gotten a manchild with the help of the LORD."
2Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.(NASB)
The scriptures do not record any relations between Adam and Eve prior to the fall, so I would surmise that she was not pregnant before the fall.
I could be wrong, so I am not dogmatic about it.
I don't see any time referenced between the birth of Cain and Abel.
It could have been a short time (i.e. they were twins) or a much longer time.
absolutely not. If she conceived in a non fallen state then I would hold that the child would be non fallen even if she gave birth after the fall and there was no non fallen children.. All speculative you understand.
TC I would point out that the scripture never records relations unless there is a conception or a consummation or forced violation, and if Adam and Eve were in the garden even only a week it would be a stretch to hold that they never had relations. Remember she was his wife before the fall and that means consummation.
