Norman Vincent Peale
Well, you could follow Norman Vincent Peale right off the charts through his philosophy of humanism! However, you wouldnt be a christian, just a 'good person'. -
I asking about GOD's omniscience, not man's. DOes God then know about every expierence there is--i.e. can he Empathize to every expierence to truely know them? Or is he all-knowing without it.
-
Omniscience
God knows all! He said so in His word.
Sorry if I misinterpreted. Your siggy is so loud I had to respond to it! -
UnchartedSpiritI asking about GOD's omniscience, not man's. DOes God then know about every expierence there is--i.e. can he Empathize to every expierence to truely know them? Or is he all-knowing without it.Today 07:45 PM
Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin. -
Thanks, that works, I guess.
Did he know of all of our infirmities before HE was crucified or even before HE came to earth -
God is the eternal I am of the universe. He knows everything that has ever been, that is currently, and that ever will be.
Joseph Botwinick -
One of God's attributes is immutability. For God to not know something, then suddenly know it, would mean He has changed. What God knows today He has always known. To quote R. Charles Blair, a fellow Western Kentucky Baptist, "Did it ever occur to you that nothing ever occurs go God?"
-
then...if Jesus already knew already what it was like to be crucified and recieve all our sins, why was it still so agonizing to him? Wasn't he alreday braced for it?
-
Joseph Botwinick -
It must matter to him. Isn't he allowed to ask a question?
-
Thank you master of the obvious. The question is why does it matter to him. Am I not allowed to ask a question?
Joseph Botwinick -
Now let me ask you a question? Do you have an answer for him, because I was wondering the same thing. -
Nope. The only answer I would even attempt to offer is that God's way is above our ways, and his way is always the right way. It doesn't matter to me. It is not anything that should even concern us unless you and Uncharted Spirit can give me a reason why I should be concerned about it. Hence, the question: Why do you want to know?
Joseph Botwinick -
Wouldn't we have to say that knowing something and going through something are 2 different things.
When my mother was sick and I knew she was going to die I knew it was going to be painful. However that did not take away or make the pain of losing her any less. -
WEll, we have to take into account that Jesus was also fully human. Did he pop out of his mama's tummy already walking and talking? Surely not. He had to learn things as well, and there are many instances in scripture that indicate that He had to learn things as we do, yet without sinning.

Speaking of the Saviour to come, learning from his Father.
Isa 50:4 ΒΆ The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to [him that is] weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
Isa 50:5 The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
Isa 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. -
Gosh why did I ask this? Oh, because it matters weither God was all-knowing before he came to earth or not. But I guess when he was made flesh he lost that quality of God, so it doesen't matter anyway...
-
Here is your answer:
1. God knows everything past, present and future.
2. Jesus was fully God and fully man except without sin.
Joseph Botwinick -
Recently, I heard a Bible Study Teacher say that since God can do anything, He could make Jesus (Himself) not know some things while here ln earth. That way, He could know and feel what we experience when we don't know things.
He made a good point.
