It's the new birth that saves and prepares the heart to believe when introduced to Christ. The flesh cannot discern or believe in the true Christ. God poured out his Spirit on all flesh, Jew and Gentile alike. Our job is to reach the elect among them with the gospel.

It is the Tribune God that saves, not the new birth.
The quickening and indwelling of the Spirit gives new life.new birth.
The heart is not prepared as much as replaced. We are prepared by being convicted of sin.
The gospel has gone worldwide[all flesh]...but not everyone has the Spirit.Rom8:9

You mention the correct ingredients but in an impossible order.
You are trying to make ravioli and meatballs but pouring the water on the floor instead of in the pot.
No such thing as a "reborn unbeliever".
Men are born children of wrath even as others.
A saving response to the gospel reveals them to be the object of God's electing grace, after they are quickened. Eph2:1-10, rom8:1-14

Of course, it is God who saves. But the New Birth IS salvation. You cannot hear and believe in Christ without first having it.

That does not make sense. Since belief precedes the new birth which God gives, John 1:12-13. Belief does not cause the new birth, God does. Ephesians 2:8, ". . . that not of yourselves . . . ."

    You have it exactly backward.
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV 1900)

“For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:11–12 (KJV 1900)

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2 Corinthians 4:3–4 (KJV 1900)

No I do not have it backwards. Believing precedes being born of God. John 1:12-13, ". . . to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
    Mark 16:16, ". . . He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; . . ."
Acts of the Apostles 16:31, ". . . Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, . . ."
Ephesians 2:8, " For by grace are ye saved through faith; . . ."
Romans 1:16, ". . . the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; . . ."

It's aisle. You 'walk the aisle' in a SB Church, and then you are 'saved'.

If by SB you mean Southern Baptist then I can promise you that you are mistaken.

But the good ones sit on the front row....you know...a little closer to God. :Wink

Now if I recall Kentucky and Tennessee Primitive Baptist churches may believe you have to walk the aisle to be saved. But those are not Southern Baptist. :Biggrin

If you are saved in a SBC church it could very well be months before you are baptized. They (we) seem to have devolved classes for everything (perspective members, new members, personal finance, baptism, the SBC doctrines....heck, we are our own university).

Did you ever throw rocks at a wasp nest when you were a kid?

That is not what Romans 10 actually says. “Shalt be saved” [Romans 10:9] is not past tense.

We had a lamp post (it was gas but was never hooked up to my knowledge). Red wasps (we called them fire wasps) would build a next there (the glass had been long gone).

As kids we would line up in the yard. First one up has a bat and hits the pole, running back to the line. And so on. We always got stung at least once.

Lol, sorry Salty, but I just gotta tell this. Bumble bee nest in a bale of hay in the barn loft, wiped them out one by one with a badminton racket as they flew through the loft door to the nest.

    Had a blast. Narry a sting. :D

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12–13 (KJV 1900)

Faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Salvation). You believe because God saved you. You cannot believe unless he does.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,” Galatians 5:22 (KJV 1900)
