My only point is that these scare tactics about socialised medicine can be just that - scare tactics.
And how do you know that giving up the quality and availability of our healthcare, not to mention inviting our government to completely ignore the Constitution that limits it, is not something to be scared of?
Socialised health care can result in the very best of medical care without the astronomical personal costs.
Then why is Great Britain slowly returning to privatized care? Why do so many people from those countries you believe we should emulate come here for care that they can't get at home? Why do people under the system you tout in Canada have to enter a lottery just to be guaranteed the right to their own doctor?
There is no way they could have paid the million dollars that the free-wheeling US health care would have cost them.
And yet, between insurance companies, personal savings, and charities, people do it every day.
Like I said, I'm sorry your daughter has cancer, but I'm not sorry enough that I'm willing to give up my own family's health care.
