Apparently the people who work at the bank call center do not know.
When you deposit a check, the ATM asks you to confirm it's amount.
DO NOT take it lighty. What ever the amount you confirm the ATM tells you, it becomes the amount on the image.
So if the actual amount on the check is different. . . . Merely calling your bank, they might primarily go by their check image.
* Can you get them to look at the actual check?
* Will there be an original image for the check?
* Will it have to wait till it clears with the check issuer?
I do not have any good answers. My bank only gave me credit for the small dollar amount. They denied the image was changed. My copy for the check image only showed the changed digit - all the other digits where not identifiable.
