An Evil Christmas Gift: Gift Certificates from Planned Parenthood

Probably the most evil and offensive Christmas offer ever, a Planned Parenthood affiliate is offering Christmas gift certificates....

Snips from the News Report:

For the first time, Planned Parenthood in Indiana is offering gift certificates. The organization said a big increase in calls and visits from newly unemployed and uninsured Hoosiers prompted what it calls the unusual, yet practical gift option.

The certificates come in $25 increments. They can be used for everything from birth control to $58 examinations that include breast exams and pap tests. Men who receive healthcare at Planned Parenthood can use them too.

"They can be seen for sexually transmitted disease screenings, HIV tests and general prostate exams and those kinds of things," said Struben-Hall.

Some Hoosiers 24-Hour News 8 talked to asked if the gift certificates could be used towards abortions. The answer is yes. But, Planned Parenthood said that's not the purpose of the gift certificates.

What are we teaching our children when they grow up thinking its ok to murder a child because of unemployment? I wonder how many Obama will give out this year?

I tried not to post because I know you guys are tired of hearing from me. I guess I can't resist saying this for them, Planned Parenthood does a lot more than abortions. I don't see why we should object to someone getting breast exams and pap tests or seen for sexually transmitted disease screenings, HIV tests and general prostate exams and those kinds of things...

So my post is not misunderstood, I in no way condone someone using these gift certificates to get an abortion, I do however see some good in what their doing. We have many of young people who are HIV positive and don't know it. This means they are involuntarily spreading this killing disease. Since we advocate pro-life, I would assume we can find this acceptable.

I think once we get health care reformed then Planned Parenthood won't be needed to perform these functions, but for now, someone needs to do it. Glad to see them step up.

Any perceived "good' they are doing should be canceled out in the minds of Christians because of the slaughter of unborn children. sad it is not.

I see what you're saying, but in this case the whole lump is leavened.

Another article about these gift certificates (from the AP):

Opponents of abortion said Planned Parenthood was making a "mockery" of the holiday season.

"The tragedy is that almost 6,000 fewer children will be celebrating a first Christmas this year because they were aborted in Planned Parenthood's Indiana clinics," said Mike Fichter, president and CEO of Indiana Right to Life.
