“And I (Jesus) will pray (to) the Father, and He will give you anotherHelper,
that He may abide with you forever -- the Spirit of truth
… you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
… If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him,
and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
… But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name,
He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
(John 14:16-26).
The Greek word here for "another" is "allos" meaning "another of the same kind" (ref: Vine).
So, the Holy Spirit is another Person of the Triune Godhead (like God the Son).
It seems to say that ...
all 3 Persons of the Triune God will come to be with the faithful believer,
but only the Holy Spirit will remain in him/her forever (i.e. until death),
and only the Holy Spirit will be the One doing the teaching.
Interesting, what?
In his preincarnate state The Son of God was "spirit" in substance just as angels were "spirit" in substance as were the other Two Persons of the Trinity were "spirit" in substance - meaning immaterial in substance.
In his incarnate and glorified state He continued to be "spirit" in substance in regard to His divine nature while material in substance in regard to His human nature.
The Holy Spirit is said to be the "Spirit of Christ" in regard to His mission sent by the Son to be "another comforter" rather than the "spirit" of Christ in regard to the substance of His divine nature.
Your talking to a wall!
He is incapable of distinguish between purpose and fulfillment between abstract design and concrete application between THOUGHT and MATERIALIZATION.
He really belives all the elect actuall and realistically existed prior to the world began and so naturally he believes in the incarnation before the incarnation occurred in time and space.
His mind is one big mess!
I do not make the distinction in that he could while here on the earth born of the virgin oscillate between one and or the other?
Is it his resurrected human body that is now glorified?
Something took place at this time. ἀλλ᾽ ἑαυτὸν ἐκένωσεν
other to-self it-en-emptied,----W&H interlinear
but Self EMPTIES----Greek interlinear Scripture4all.org
but did empty himself----Young's
but emptied himself,----ASV, RSV
Yes, he emptied himself of the MANIFEST glory of God. His resurrected body was made incapable of dying and thus he became the "firstfruit" of the resurrection and our resurrected body will be like his - glorified.
I don't know if anyone can fully describe that.
He speaks of a "glory" he shared with the Father BEFORE coming to earth and the fact that the same "glory" will be restored after leaving the earth.
Hence, that glory was not "manifested" on earth between His incarnation and resurrection or else his words of a previous glory and return to that glory afterwards are nonsense.
I thought we should be reminded of WHO we are talking about ...
John 1:
1 In the beginning was the Word (the Logos), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Do some research on glory, of God and also of us in the future. Also on grace and how it seems to be related to salvation therefore the gift of God eternal life.
Are glory and grace related? Look at 1 Peter 1:19-21 Can there be one without the other?
Always keep in mind that WHO we are talking about see 14 above
"became flesh"
Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Heb 4:15 YLT but [one] tempted in all things in like manner -- apart from sin;
However the words from his own mouth. Mark 10:17 YLT And Jesus said to him, `Why me dost thou call good? no one [is] good except One -- God;
Of course you could say he was speaking of himself, however that isn't really the context.
You also have this said or something very similar several times.
Matt 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
However contextually in each of those times this is heard it is in relation to the resurrected Christ. At his baptism which is a picture of his death and resurrection and in each case was said post the coming up out of the water, out of the grave. Also on the mount of transfiguration also a picture of him coming in his kingdom, post resurrection a spirit/spiritual incorruptible concept see 1 Cor. 15.
