This just jumped out at me...

Lynn Sweet said, "I got a call from the White House about 6:30 p.m. July 22 confirming that indeed I was going to attend the 8 p.m. press conference. I was told I "may" get a question."

What is the meaning of this?

Is she admitting that she was told over the phone by the White House that she may be getting a question from the White House that they wanted her to ask at the press conference?

Perhaps she could have expanded on this point a bit and told us when she finally got the question from them.

In post # 5 of this thread, you asked me "why not say whether you approve of Coulte's liberal making up of facts to inflame her readers."

Well I suppose we are now even:
check this question (post # 7)

back on this thread Robert Snow said " You right-wingers just cannot bring yourself to admitting what a lying fraud Coulter is, so typical..."

First, please give me your definition of a "right-winger". You see, I do not define myself that way.

Also, we might check the definitions of fraud and lying. Could it be that Coulter only gave bad information which was neither fraud or lying?

PS R Snow - I wonder if Hillary lied about the vast right wing conspiracy

Lynn Sweet, in the coulmn said, "The Obama White House did not have a clue what I would be asking."

For me, that looks like proof.
Yes, and of course she wouldn't lie about it. Gibbs already said they knew what the questions would be about and they prepared for them.

This thead is not about Obama, it's about Ann Coulter and her "inventing her own facts."
That's evidence of how weak your side is. You would rather talk about a mouthy commentator that very few people listen to rather than talk about the substance of this failed president. You constantly deflect from real issues to talk about things that don't matter.

Here's new: Ann Coulter is irrelevant.

The fact is that Obama actually prepared this answer and you are apparently going to defend this race-baiting by the president. That says a lot about you, and none of it is good.

Your side complained about Bush defenders, but you are worse. At least Bush was working for something like freedom and liberty for oppressed people. Obama is attacking the law enforcement officers that keep our streets safe while you sleep at night. The fact that you can't see that difference tells us all we need to know about the liberal mindset. It is utterly indefensible.

People here keep whining that the White House called her and told her she would be there and she replied I may ask a question. With a room filled with reporters there has to be some procedure in place such that when the president, any president, finishes asking a question there is not chaos with reporters screaming to be heard. That is what happens on the street. It just sounds like normal operating procedure for any presidential press hearing.

Someone complained that Obama was aware this topic might come up. Do you think that a president, any president, does not prepare for possible questions on a number of topics prior to entering the room? That would be very foolish. It would be like a candidate not being coached on many topics before a debate.

Well, if Obama was aware this topic would come up...and he, with advanced notice, still gave the answer he did...I would say he......acted stupidly.

Maybe you need to bump up the font size some more.

What her article says is "I was told I "may" get a question."

Why are you making up facts?

What is your proof that she said to the White House on the phone, "I may ask a question."?

There is a three letter word what you said above. Hmmmmmmmm?

With a room filled with reporters there has to be some procedure in place such that when the president, any president, finishes asking a question there is not chaos with reporters screaming to be heard. That is what happens on the street. It just sounds like normal operating procedure for any presidential press hearing...

So it is normal procedure for the White House to call journalists the day before the press conference and tell them that they may be called on for a question?

Then why does everyone wave their hands and call out to be picked at the actual press conference?

Someone complained that Obama was aware this topic might come up. Do you think that a president, any president, does not prepare for possible questions on a number of topics prior to entering the room? That would be very foolish. No one complained about any such thing.

Your reading comprehension skills sure could use some work.

Who?

Do you think that a president, any president, does not prepare for possible questions on a number of topics prior to entering the room? That would be very foolish. It would be like a candidate not being coached on many topics before a debate.
The problem was not that he thought it might come up, or that he prepared for it. The problem was that with preparation he gave an answer that incited racial tensions when he admitted not knowing what he was talking about. This tells me that either his handlers are pathetically incompetent (my suspicion all along since we have seen that he has surrounded himself with unqualified people) or that he ignores them (he is too political for that).
