One thing I know is that God is not pro-Death and there is a pro-Death political party which lists death (right to choose abortion) in it's party platform. But people who support the pro-Death party will say anything to soothe their pricked conscience.

However, the pro-death party as you call them are also pro-taking care of the poor. God also encouraged charity which is why say, "there is no correlation between God and political affiliations".

God is Love and is about righteousness which neither party qualifies 100% and anything less is not acceptable. Salvation is offered to individuals and not political parties, one must know Christ individually and not by party affiliation. Thinking any part of a party affiliation or ideology other than Christianity makes you anymore Christ like is contrary to the Gospel and should be discouraged by all Christians.

Faith alone... Not Faith and Anti Abortion... Faith...

The so called Christian left is as tied to the Democrat party as anyone is tieed to any party.

That could be and we know they have other problems like acceptance of alternative life styles etc... My point is Godly perfection is not party dependent and either party will have you short on Godliness.

By the way, you see this new movement for the right to become tolerant of g@y marriage? Folks like Megan McCain and one of McCain's campaign heads. Now that will be the day when the evangelicals accept g@y marriage...

Not really. The pro death democrats have, since the days of FDR, been able to con the so-called poor into believing that the pro death democrats have their interests at heart. Nothing could be further from the truth. All one has to do is compare the charitable giving of the liberals/leftists/democrats to those who consider themselves conservatives. I believe that Biden gave something like $300+ dollars to charity last year. A man whose heart is bigger than his mouth.:laugh::laugh:

In fact there are really very few in this country who could be labeled poor. The bureaucrats who determine the number of poor do not consider the assets of those people only the income.

Biden is not all of the left and the right gives more because they have more to give. Also, not all non-profit organizations have anything to do with helping feed the hungry, shelter to the homeless etc... Ex... Obama largest contribution was to the UNCF (United Negro College Fund). That has nothing to do with feeding those who have not the means to feed themselves. I suspect many of the rights contributions also fit this category.

Never forget the story the Master told about the woman who gave the penny. She who gave the least gave the most.

Yep, I was listening to her speech and immediately heard the sound of a lead balloon dropping. I see the ultra-conservatives becoming Libertarians since it seems the Republican party is heading a different direction. They are more concerned with voters and popularity then the principles of their constituents. I believe guys like Ron Paul is in a good position to take a large chunk of the Republican away from the party.

I know that we're technically a Republic but the term democracy is often used as as a synonym. Bush often said that he wanted to spread the democratic form of government throughout the world. A real democracy would be very cumbersome because it involves a plebiscite on every issue. That means a vote by citizens presumably via the internet instead of a vote in Congress.

Actually this is not true. There are more leftist rich people than conservative rich folks. I guess it is because they give more of their money away.

You absoutely can not seperate your chrisitinty from your political life, if so, you aren't very serious about your christian life, nor are you attempting to live a Christlike life
a christian can support murdering a baby by ripping it apart or burning it to death.

I'd say just the opposite, if you base Christianity on politics then you're not serious about being a Christian. There will clearly become a time when you'll have to chose between your politics and your Christianity because there is no political party that 100% conforms to Christianity. Politics are worldly and we are told not to be conformed to the things of this world. How can one be fully supportive of any political ideology and Christian also? We can't serve two masters...

So yes Donna, no only can you but you SHOULD separate your Christianity from politics. God is neither Democrat or Republican.

As for your other comment, these are the word of Jesus describing who will stand on His right. Show me where he mentioned either one who didn't murder or one who was anti-abortion? I'm not trying to be crass but you are taking a belief and sticking it into the Bible instead seeking a belief from the Bible. I do not believe in abortion but I find no scripture that supports one views on abortion or murder determines your salvation or relationship with God. Sin is sin and murder is not a sin unto death...

Mt 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

I believe it would do Christians good------if we would study what I call "Heavenly Politics"

Will there be any political party in Heaven?? Yes------but only one!! Heaven will be run on a one party ticket-----that being Theocracy!!!

So, friends-------study the "ups and downs" of American democracy---the voice of the people

Then study the "ups and downs" of Heaven's Theocracy---the voice of God

Then decide which one you would "kiss goodby" for the other

And remember------the Lord Jesus came to Earth and offered Theocracy---the people gave Him theocracy alright-------Democracy led Theocracy down the road of suffering to Moriah's Hill and "The Place of the Skull"

But I get this drift-------that more Christians believe that Heaven will be run by democracy-----which the Bible says opposite----what I'm trying to say is-----when Theocracy offers an Olive branch to Democracy---Democracy will trample it!!!

Which leads to blatant hypocisy. There should be no aspect on which we do not base on Christianity.

Amen! Jesus said that no man can serve two masters. So, Christian values and morality should carry over from Sunday into the voting booth on Tuesday. Voting for and supporting those who condone and promote murder of the unborn would be anathema to a true Bible-believing Christian who truly walks the walk besides talking the talk!

To bring into the debate about caring for the poor is a tactic used to soothe a pierced conscience and that liberals care more about the poor is an untrue statement. Conservative evangelical Christians have a proven record of individual giving to the poor all around the world, whereas, liberals want a nanny state - the government to provide for all the needs of the needy, including those who want to live on the dole, AND enforced birth control through abortion via the UN.

To preserve life and individual freedom as well as expecting people to work are Biblical principles.

I didn't say anything about basing christianity on politics, but if you can easily seperate your christanity from politics, you aren't living Christ like in al areas of your life, you are with holding areas, to make your own decisions, not His, and approving murdering babies, or of homosexuality is not Christ like, nor is it christian. This type of christian needs to examine their life, and give it totally over to God.
If you chose anythng over your christianity you have chosen another 'god' not THE GOD. Choseing to vote to approve of those who murder babies or say homosexuality isn't immoral is not christian.
Of course HE sin't, and I never said I did, so don't act like I did. BUT, God will not approve of murdering an unborn baby or of homosexuality, and neither will I ever approve them, but will always oppose them. I for one believe God.
your putting words in my mouth I never said, beating false withness.
    Revmitchell
Exactly, you can not seperate Christ from any part of your life, or HE isn't really a part of any of your life.

According to scripture, how many parts of our lives are we allowed to with hold from Christ?
