Mostly agree, although I think the political "moderates" like the Texas folks still
want to be SBC.
Texas: It's a whole 'nother country.

The best I can figure, Texas has existed with a higher level of autonomy for so long that it's taken 23 years for the reality of the takeover to settle in with those folks.
They were still calling themselves Southern Baptists long after the rest of us stopped, primarily because they had no knowledge of an SBC beyond their (admittedly huge) borders.
