Before President Obama was elected Crabby posted thread after thread critical of George Bush. Yet, time and time again, he said that his mind was not made up. Yeah right!! Can anyone say "disingenuous?"

I was a Bush sympathizer until he earned my criticism. He and his administration made so many mistakes and did so much harm to America. it is so sad. I was not sure who I was going to vote for until I learned about Palin's shortcomings. And, if you remember I did have kind words about her, but not her politics.

Baloney. I don't remember a single nice thing you have said about Mrs. Palin.

You don't? I talked about how I thought she would be the life a the party. How she would be a great friend and lots of fun to be around.

Nope. Don't remember. I do remember you implying that her & her daughter choose funny names for their children.

Hmmm, I don't remember that. In fact I do not remember their names at all. Anyway, if I did say that it does not mean it was an insult. My dad worked with a man who called his son and daughter "Spider" and "Wormy". Those are funny nicknames, at least to my way of thinking.

And I do think she would be a fun friend. I think she has a neat, likable personality.

I do. And you did mean it as an insult. You disappeared after being called out on it. By me, of course.

OK, I can say something to this post in the president's favor.
Now that all the president's cards are on the table (and have now been turned face up), he is consistent in his political agenda and has kept his promise that things on the hill will "fundamentally change".

I really don't believe he is out to "destroy" America but cure it of his perceived ills thereof.
That is not to say it won't happen.
Many a patient has died on the operating table.

FWIW, I believe we (as Christian conservatives) are "reaping" what we have sown - to a degree at least. We are the most giving nation on earth (so we are told even by those who don't like us) and everyone wants a handout from Uncle Sam.

But even at that we probably haven't done enough, first to the gospel message and then for the physical needs of the truly "poor and needy" of our land and this world.

Therefore we now have to endure at least two (there are others) of the important human secularist solution(s) to this world's ills:

    1) Abortion and 2) "death with dignity".

A society of death for those at the two ends of the life cycle makes cold logical sense to them (secularists) because it strikes at the two greatest expenditures of our social investments. Education of children is very expensive and time consuming, therefore in their mind, reduce their numbers (1 child policy coming soon?) and/or figure out a way to assess the "fetal" IQ before it is born, all others must face the "fetal tissue" meat grinder).

Second after that and maybe even of a higher cost: Care of the elderly.

Oh we were mocked saying we accused the administation's health bill of "killing grandma". Well, OK then, what is the difference between "killing grandma" and denying her a dialysis machine (hospice and morphine instead) by giving it to a 35 year old community organizer because of selective prioritization and greater ROI? Unless of course your family can afford to purchase one for her, if you can find one.

Since the thread has already been derailed, I'll add these good comments about former president(s) Bush: I would like again to see days of the concept of the "contract with America", "compassionate conservativism" and especially the "1000 points of light" with people helping people instead of a cradle (if you make it to the cradle) to grave (via old age and not the hospice) intrusive tyrannical government, but this time with a more effective follow through and better participation of the citizenry.

The economy of the EURO nations is as large as the US economy. Please explain exactly why we should pay for their defense? Shouldn't they be paying us back for 60 years of one way, one sided assistance to them?

    You're kidding...right?

    This man took over GM.

This man used the power of government to fire the leader of a private business.

This man (though he's been caught in multiple lies about it) is for a fascist "single payer" (government owned and run) healthcare system.

If he's "mainstream center-left," then Atila the Hun was "slightly hands on."

A major difference between conservatives and liberals:

Liberals like "fairness:" everyone should have the same...regardless of effort, investment, risk, or rights of ownership. Government has a right to impose "fairness," even if it means injustice (see "Affirmative action," et al.).

Conservatives favor "justice:" That God-granted rights should be recognized and ensured by government.
