The mind & heart Control the Will of men.
I Corinthians 2:14; "But the natural man
receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:
because they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned."
Romans 8:7; "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:
because it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be."
Romans 10:10; "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
13,14; "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved."
"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?
and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?
and how shall they hear without a preacher?"
John 5:40; "And ye will not come to Me, that ye might have life. "
Romans 3:10,11; "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth,
there is none that seeketh after God."
Romans 3:23; "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
3:18-20; "There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith,
it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped,
and all the world may become guilty before God.
20Therefore by the deeds of the law
there shall no flesh be justified in his sight:
for by the law is the knowledge of sin."
The condition of the unsaved man is summarized
in Ephesians 2:12; "That at that time ye were without Christ,
being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel,
and strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope, and without God in the world:"
Unsaved sinners are without Christ,
without God,
and without hope.
Because of man's spiritual condition,
GOD MUST TAKE THE INITIATIVE!
Luke 19:10; "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save
that which was lost."
Ephesians 2:1a; "And you hath he quickened,
2:8,9; "For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast."
John 3:3; "Jesus answered and said unto him,
Verily, verily, I say unto thee
,
Except a man be born again,
he cannot see the kingdom of God."
3:5; "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit,
he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
The words, "born again", mean, "born from above".
