He's a dud. That's what I think. Talk about over thinking an issue.

We are to love Him more than spouse, father, mother. Yes, I am very much in love with Him.
What does dude do with the fact that, as the church, we are the BRIDE of Christ? That sorts shoots his argument in the foot. -
When my wife and I were dating we started as friends. If I wanted something to do on a Friday night I'd ask her on Wednesday. After 2 years our relationship took a dramatic turn. We couldn't stand to be away from each other. I was in Atlanta at the time and she was in Florida. We set a date for marriage and in 1979 we became one in Holy Matrimony. Our love continues to grow as we grow old together.
Well 2000 years ago a Friend gave His life for me. I did not know Him, yet He died for me. Then it dawned on me that I was a sinner and headed straight for Hell. I saw that I needed a way off this path to destruction. Then I heard His call. He showed me His stripes, His hands and His feet. The side where He was pierced was the sign that He gave His all for me. Then I recognized that He was alive. He went to Hell for me. I do not have to go. I will follow Him instead. Now I long to be with Him and I can feel His presence in my heart. I anxiously await the day that I will be wrapped up in His arms. To be taken to the Home He has gone to prepare for me. There our Love will forever grow never to worry that we shall ever part.
"If that isn't love, then Heaven's a myth"
Yes, indeed I am in love with Jesus:jesus: -
No problem with it. Now if you can't expound upon the "I'm in love with Jesus" idea more than "I love You, I need You" than I wouldn't choose to lead that song. I agree there needs to be more to it than that. Great writers can lend more to their lyrics than that.

IN love with Jesus? EEEEWWW!!
I'm Not In Love -

before i read what this guy wrote - i believed the same thing..
the terminology is rather sickening to think about in ways.
i pray i love God above all else.
wouldn't be a biblical christian otherwise right.
i just... can't stand the terminology - the way it's put. weird. heh. -
Technically, he seems correct with regard to us collectively being the bride of Christ. However, there is a mystical union with Jesus that can't be explained in any other way other than "in love with."
I also understand his concerns -- "in love with" normally carries with it erotic feelings, feelings which are inappropriate when applied to God. Also, there could be a missiological idea to think about -- what would an unbeliever think is s/he heard us saying that we are in love with Jesus (which then makes me think of "He Touched Me" and how that must sound to unbelievers!).
Yet I can't think of any other way to describe the feelings I have for Jesus. I love Jesus is great but it seems trite; I love the Cubs too. So by saying that I'm in love with Jesus I am putting him in rarified air, which only becomes more rarified if I am given half a second to explain myself. -
Part of the problem is that we define "love" as many things, while the Greek is very specific about different types of love.
-
Yes, I am In LOVE with JESUS! He came and died for my sins. I could never go through the suffering that he endured. I couldn't even finish watching the passion of the Christ movie, I just broke down in tears that he suffered all that for me.

Wont you lose your tough biker card if this gets out?
Yes I am absolutly totaly in Love with Jesus! -
the terminology sounds homosexual.
-
Though I may not be perfect in showing it I am 100% in love with Him.
I was in love with my dad when he was alive, I am in love with my five sons.
Claiming that sounds homosexual is, well, never mind. -
not trying to get other people to see it the way i do. least not anymore. -
It's ok, gekko... we're not jumping on you.
I just don't agree (totally) with the article.
