Astros sign Carlos Lee to 6-year deal + sign Woody Williams

    Lee isnt a bad deal for them, but Woody is way past his prime. They could have done better.

    It gives Williams a chance to end his career in his home town. I can live with that for a couple of years.

    Maybe signing Lee will convince Pettite to stick around. I think that Clemens will either retire or go elsewhere.

    Williams could be solid; I don't know if there is such as thing as a past your prime pitcher anymore. I mean MLB is full of older pitchers still getting the job done. I thought Lee would have been better served to DH in the AL, but he can rake at the plate and will help the stros.
