Is it common among most types of Baptists to teach tithing? Prohibition from alcohol? Or dispensationalism? Well perhaps the last one various from Baptist to Baptist. Okay what of Deacon/Congregational rule government? Is that common among most Baptists?

Or I have one is it common among some Baptists to have a pastor rule government with no elders or deacons? I know of one Baptist church where the pastor calls all the shots and has no elders or deacons to hold him accountable.

I know that music style various from Baptist to Baptist so no need to ask on this one. Thanks..

Baptist distinctives are: Credobaptism by immersion, and local autonomy. The second one, means that many other issues will vary from church to church.

None of what you've listed is typically considered a "Baptist distinctive." Everything you've listed pretty much falls under Baptist distinctives such as Autonomy of the local church, and Soul Liberty; and therefore, what you're asking about is better described as "Baptist Preferences."

the things you list are found in primarily legalistic fundamentalist churches and they alone.

Some baptist churches are going to the elder rule type government. (isn't that just the same as Presbyterians?)
Tithing - I do not teach that as it is OT law - and not commanded in the NT
Prohibition from alcohol? NT teaches moderation, not prohibition, but IMHO, most Baptist churches teaches prohibition so they do not have to determine as to how much is too much.

Some are - some are not - each SBC church, as in every other Baptist denomination; a local church is autonomous

they can be...or not....it depends on the people and elders there.....it is a general statement

Can you have a fundamentalist church that does not turn to legalism.....maybe,
    but it would be rare....
Every other sermon is going to be about some form of separation
    strict literalism rules the day
They say the law is done, we are in the "age of grace"
then they substitute human laws , don't drink, don't dance, etc...instead of doing what God says.

Been in plenty of churches that teach tithing and prohibition from alcohol. Never once has tithing or consumption of alcohol been tied to salvation. Your use of the word legalistic is not a fair statement.

    Hello Matt
Well yeah that's a fair enough for criticism .
I was speaking in broad general terms but I know when I'm going down the road and put the radio on I know within 2 minutes of listening to the radio if I'm listening to a legalistic type fundamentalist or not .
I mean I've heard enough of those sermons if you've heard one you've heard like it doesn't of them because they're all the same to get to the same for five points over and over and over. I would like to be wrong about it will be nice to think that I was wrong about it but from the sample I get to listen to I'm not too encouraged about what I hear

The thing is that not totally wrong with what they say what say 75% of the time but they carry it to an extreme and to the exclusion of major portions of Scripture and is a lot more to the Christian life than a list of do's and don'ts

Those are the 2 main ones, but also the infallibility of the Bible, the true Gospel, trinity, second coming also are to be included!

Deacons are not biblicaly to be overseers or rulers in the church.

Those are Fundamentals of The Faith, not necessarily Baptist distinctives. The question is what makes a person a Baptist and not an Orthodox Presbyterian or Free Methodist.

The job of deacons is to take care of the physical needs (sick, poor, ect) of the church so the pastor is able to devote his time to the spiritual needs of the church.

Agreed, that is the job of servants (deacons).
