    Trump still planning to deliver State of the Union address next week despite Pelosi: Fox News

    "On Tuesday, Fox News reported that Trump plans to present his speech next week.

    “Sources are telling us the White House delivered a letter to the sergeant of arms,” said reporter Eric Shawn.

    “That letter requesting a walk-through as they plan to go ahead with that speech next Tuesday. This after how speaker Nancy Pelosi asked the president to delay the address because of government shutdown security concerns,” he said.

    “The president is throwing down the gauntlet to the speaker,” he continued....."

    I've heard rumblings that if Nancy actually and officially disinvites the POTUS from the House of Representatives ala the SOTU speech, he will not do it from the senate house but from the Oval Office.

    If he gives it in the House, be prepared for the most boorish ill mannered behavior out of democrats ever seen before in the halls of Congress.

    It will be horrible...and embarrassing.

    Now they're saying it's on at the Capitol as scheduled:

    Report: Trump intends to deliver SOTU as scheduled at the Capitol, despite Pelosi's objection

    good decision, and that link thinks Pelosi will be a no show. It's a joint session, so it's not Nancy's call. Watch her wanting Trump to skip the SOTU and then try to impeach him under the grounds he didn't fulfill his constitutional duties to do just that. She is so over her head when it comes to out-trolling Trump.

    House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Blocks President Trump Entry into Capitol Building – Confirms State of Union Speech Cancellation…

    "It looks like Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi has no intention of allowing the House chamber to be used for a State of the Union address.

    Speaker Pelosi has informed the House Sergeant at Arms that no executive branch official will be permitted entry into the Capitol building.

    Earlier Fox News reported Pelosi cancelled a walkthrough last week, and a second request for reconsideration from the White House is expected to meet the same fate. The House Speaker controls who is, and who is not, permitted entry to the House floor. Until Speaker Pelosi calls for a vote to support a joint session of congress, the President cannot enter the chamber.

    Deputy White House Press Secretary Hogan Gidley discusses the status of the current shutdown negotiations and the likelihood a SOU address will have to take place outside Washington DC."

    Pelosi is so petty, but the SOTU is a bore to me. I think that a POTUS should just send a written report and forget it.

    Seems now that he is going to wait.

    I think Nancy wanted the POTUS to muscle in the SOTU from the OO or someplace other than the House.

    IMO she won't allow a SOTU address from the House NO MATTER what.
    Even if he completely recapitulates.

    She will keep moving the goalposts because she does not accept the legitimacy of his presidency.

    It is an institution so to speak and the POTUS has NEVER been dis-invited from the SOTU address in the history of our nation from Washington on down.

    I think Nancy may change her mind however about not letting Trump speak as the underground rumblings from the Democratic constituency is growing.

    If not she will probably be asked (or even forced) to step aside.

    To be forthright, if she is doing this on her own, she is a brave person, though I disagree completely with her strategy of bullying the POTUS.

    Nancy we know you have a lot of chutzpah but please let the POTUS have his day on the 29th. Everyone will think much better of you.
