Cutter,
I believe I see it too. I think it eases their conscience to tell themselves how good their children are doing. Maybe they can barely handle their own emotions after the trauma of divorce.
I have also met single parents who are just a blessing. They are an inspiration, and do more than I believe I could walking in their shoes.

It doesn't speak of any child "pretending" for the sake of mom and dad but it reads the child is only trying to please their parents to be point of being overly good. There's no good reason to debate it, nor is it edifying to worry over something like this, right. Hope your having a good weekend :)

What is the problem with a black man marrying a white woman?
Both are HUMAN... and God ordained marriage for humans. -
-
If a poster finds your marital arrangement not adhering to the bible or unbiblical as you call it, then it sounds like he may be being convicted. Let it go, it isn't so personal as you are trying to make it. Remember, you need to follow what God convicts you of, even if others find it incorrect. Most of the posters are ok with mixed race marriages

Looks like you have alot of work that needs to be done in order to overcome the issues that come with marrying someone of another race.
God help you with that and try to do better with your children.
God bless! -
Racism is a sin. Period.
And condemning biracial marriages based on the color of skin is racism...
So anyone that is not if favor of biracial marriages is a racist. Duh.
:BangHead: -
My problem with marrying someone of a different race is that everyone is of a different race.
We are all freaks. -
Some of us just don't know how to deal with freaks.

So are you saying that racism is not a sin?
Surely you don't believe this...
It is a sin... it is the sin of pride.
It is worshipping the created (pride in the way God made you) instead of the creator...
It is preferring one person over another based on prejudice...
Jesus himself said to judge with righteous judgement.. which means knowing all the facts before passing judgment....and not to judge based on appearance....
John 7:24 KJV
(24) Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
And when you pre-judge someone based on pigment of skin, it is not righteous judgement... It is going against what Jesus commanded here..
And that, my friend is sin!
Jesus commanded here not to be Pre-judice...(Don't pre-judge on appearance... and when you do, you are disobeying Christ... Are you bold enough to say that that is not a sin?
Are you really saying that racism is not sin?
I wasn't aware that Christians actually believe this.
I thought "Christian" meant Christ like... Which means you can't be a racist and a Christian at the same time... -
The fact that you cannot distinguish between sinful pride and being proud in quite a legitimate fashion says enough. However, the fact that a person being proud of their heritage being equated in your mind as worshiping their heritage is even more ridiculous and demonstrates just what I have said, you obviously lack capacity for critical analysis and thoughtful consideration here.
Your theological scribbles might look like reasonable shapes of Biblical thought to you, but they aren't. I leave you to your rope. -
Being proud of your heritage is good, as long as you don't use that pride to belittle others.
If Jesus said to not judge on appearance, and you judge on appearance it is a sin.... Not too much critical analysis needed here...
When God says to not do something, and you do it... You are wrong.
If you want to justify racism, you will have to look elsewhere... those of us here on BB will not allow racism to run rampant without taking a stand against it.
By the way, i drank chocolate milk today... not koolaid!!! I like my milk with a little color! -
By the way...there are those of US here that don't let hatred of God's Word run rampant with people who want to ADD to God's Word. Tsk tsk.
Next thing, you'll be declaring be fat is a sin and in typical novice fashion you'll ignorantly connect it to the passage about our bodies being the temple of the Holy Spirit. -
John 7:24 KJV
(24) Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
-
If you want to be a racist pig, go ahead... But as a minister, I am commanded to call sin, SIN... and Racism is a sin!!!
How can you love God who you haven't seen if you don't love your brother whom you have seen?
BTW... Gluttony is a sin... being fat isn't... -
P.S. For anyone else I have not stated my personal position on the matter, only the position that the Bible clearly does not explicitly declare racism to be a sin. Please be clear about my comments. -
But I almost agree with the second statement, I quoted. And I will almost repeat it.
"Yawn....next 'shot', please.
