Boehner grows a spine? Says House will press DOJ for Lerner indictment

Fox News: Lawmakers to weigh criminal case against Lerner for 'misleading the Congress'

House Speaker John Boehner confirmed to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly Monday that lawmakers plan to press the Justice Department to consider a criminal case against ex-IRS official Lois Lerner for “misleading the Congress.”

Boehner also said if Lerner does not cooperate soon by providing information on the IRS targeting scandal, the House would hold her in contempt of Congress.

“Somebody at the IRS violated the law,” Boehner said on “The Kelly File.”

“Whether it was Lois Lerner or not, we’ll find out.”

A meeting of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to consider contempt is set for Thursday.

But before that, the House Ways and Means Committee will meet Wednesday to prepare a letter to the Justice Department citing possible criminal activity by Lerner.Formal notice was given Monday night by the committee to Attorney General Eric Holder about the referral for possible criminal prosecution of Lerner “based on evidence the Committee has uncovered in the course of investigation of IRS abuses.”
And Eric Holder is going to provide 100% cooperation, right?

Nonetheless, the reality of DOJ's pending lack of action or cooperation can be a bone to pick in front of the voters in November. This administration's criminal stonewalling act is getting old across a variety of fronts, including Benghazi, NSA, etc., plus the Little Marxist Dictator's determination to rewrite the Constitution and most of the laws of the land using his "pen and a phone."

IRS Official Who Plead the Fifth Going To Jail? It Might Happen With Or Without DOJ I

Lois Lerner could be jailed as a result of criminal charges via the Department of Justice or from direct Congressional action. At this point, Republicans prefer the latter and just took steps towards that end.

The House Ways and Means Committee formally requested that the Justice Dept. review pressing criminal charges. In a letter delivered today, they asserted:

Lerner used her position to improperly influence agency action against only conservative organizations, denying these groups due process and equal protection rights under the law. She showed extreme bias and prejudice towards conservative groups.

This is one day before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee votes on whether to hold her in contempt for refusing to testify before Congress about the IRS’s activities.

The Washington Examiner reported that Congress can actually hold Lerner in jail until a new Congress is seated for refusing to testify, and then put her in jail again if she still refuses to testify. This action would fall under the Constitutional authority of “inherent contempt.”

Give them time, AND...

....they will grow what is needed to be worthy of the salary we pay them. Now if we can get them to quit talking tough, and go after Obama for the deaths in Benghazi! It is time to take this admin down, and it has to start in the GOP heavy handed house!
