If you are not aware, several cities are "booting" cars who are behind in paying parking tickets, though I assume a city could use any "excuse" for booting.

Here in the Salt City, booting was established due to extremely high outstanding parking tickets. However, a vehicle is subject to booting with as little as three outstanding tickets.

Do you think booting is a good ideal?
Is it just to bring more $$ in?
    Other thoughts?

They are perfectly within their right to do so. If you owe a ticket pay it. If you don't you are subject to be towed.

So if you drop a piece of paper - (littering) it would be just fine if they thew you in jail (assuming that was the punishment)

Do you think there are ever mistakes made by the government -
I contend that punishment is too harsh for only three tickets - should be a higher threshold.
