I received this pm on my action of closing a thread started by a new member Bartholomew... I felt I would bring this up to all the members who post here and my fellow moderator Brother Robert... Knowing the passion this subject creates is the reason I closed it and another similar subject from a different perspective was started in the theology forum... What do the brethren say... Should I open it or leave it closed?... Brother Glen
Dear Brother Glen,
I just came by to look at the thread I had created, and noticed you'd closed it down. However, I find this quite surprising. My aim was to have the discussion in two parts: the first to discuss what the Bible said about the subject (hence why that part was put in the theology/bible study section), and the second to discuss whether or not it had been advocated in history. I thought it was quite possible to keep these seperate. I just wondered if you might reconsider your decision, please? My aim in that post is to discuss history; albeit controversial history. I was reading through a thread in the history section all about primitive baptists. This is a controversial subject, but when left just to historical dicussion it is considered fine. Would it not be possible to do the same in my thread? I also thought it inappropraite to lump historical discussion in with theology and bible study - my aim was to keep the subject within the specified forum!
Well, thank you for reading this. I have contacted no other moderater since I do not wish to go over your authority. After all, you have to make decisions such as this by virtue of your being a moderator.
Your friend and brother,
Bartholomew

Brother Glen,
I have no problem with the duplicate thread being closed in the history forum. The question is more biblical or theological than it is history, although there may be an historical question as to who adhered to the concept.
Cheers,
Jim
