Britain's Climate change police killing it's elderly citizens

Hard to believe!

 

Not the climate change policy but the reduction of financial support for all the needy, not just the elderly.

 

How about lets make these resources affordable and quit driving prices sky high just to reduce the use of them. The climate change myth is a flat out lie and people should not be dying for a lie. Shame on the UK

 

This is a pretty shameless reach here. Similar threads to this from the other political party are soundly shouted down and rightfully so.

 

This is NOT a simply cause/effect result.

No-one died because of the climate change policy; they died because they couldn't keep warm - couldn't afford heating bills.

All of these old folk will have paid into the pension scheme & pensions were intended to provide for basic needs. The logic should be that PRESENT pension payments by people still working should pay for present pensioners - 80 y-o pensioners (I'm 79) will have paid into schemes adequate for many years ago, but could not allow for inflation. We stopped earning 20 or more years ago, so most of us have not been able to invest in home improvements, insulation, replacement boilers, etc, out of income.

A payment of £200 pa is made to all qualifying pensioners regardless of income - dating from year 2,000. It hasn't been updated with inflation.

Low wages, & wage rises below inflation, mean private pension payments are only for the well-paid. Delays & refusals of claims for supplementary benefits - even benefits - are a national scandal.

Taxation policy & tax avoidance reduce the amount available to support people who have worked all their lives, or had their jobs exported by the closure of home industry making them unable to plan for retirement.

 

They died because climate change policies drove costs up.beyond affordability.

 

I've just moved into a country bungalow already equipped with solar panels generating up to 4 Kw - more than enough most of the time so the excess is bought by the electricity company. We run lights, computer, TV, cooking & an oil-fired boiler.

 

It's your governments responsibility to save the lives of their elderly by keeping them from freezing to death.

We (the elderly) here also became expendable under a different scheme - ObamaCare.

 

ESPECIALLY the elderly - They paid into the system all their life, so now as they are ready to meet their maker - uh, just turn off their heat - goodbye grandma, grandpa thanks for keeping the nation (or empire) afloat all these years.

 

But money, in the form of energy, does grow on trees when they are sustainably planted & harvested, it shines down with the sun & blows in with the wind. I expect a near zero electricity bill because of my solar panels.

Exactly. My neighbor put in a huge array of panels. They have a life expectancy of 20 years. He has them financed for 15. Last year his energy savings minus his finance payment for the panels netted him $300 and some odd dollars. In the long term, he will lose money on them.

 

Ours were installed ten years ago with a government grant.
Many new homes are built with solar panels. Including sheltered homes for the elderly. They are unlikely to be the main source of heat in the winter.
Most pensioners couldn't afford to install them.

 

Your panels are obsolete and need upgrading. Just saying......
