"Never allow yourself another new book until you have read an old one...
” We all…need…to keep the clean sea breeze of the centuries
blowing through our minds, and this can be done only by reading the old books.” - C. S. Lewis

C.S. Lewis was a good writer and a wise man. I agree with his quotes on reading. Also I believe we are very fortunate to be able to let the wise writers of the past 'talk' to us through their writings.
I've got most of the books listed in his "Classics" area, the only one missing is by Blaise Pascal, I'll have to look him over this year.
Wise suggestion by C.S. Lewis', buying books is addictive!
... and the classics are called that for a reason!
I've usually got a finger in four or five books at a time, why only read one at a time?
One for pleasure, one for pondering, another for education and still another out of interest, this one for carrying around, that one for bedside reading.
