i am about to purchase a pc and in choosing a processor, i would rather have AMD than pentium for its low price. that is, with the same price, the AMD processor one can buy will expectedly perform better than its pentium counterpart, in terms of speed.
however, i am thinking about using the Linux OS rather than Windows, as i read that that OS and the programs built for it will cost me much less (the truth is, i have not seen that OS yet!). i have read somewhere that Linux runs on pentium processors, but i'm not sure for AMDs. if Linux cannot be run with AMD, i would rather have pentium, even with its higher price.
thus i ask, can the Linux OS run with a pc using the AMD processor?
Can Linux run with AMD processors?
