PLEASE DO NOT make this into ccm debate.
Not the point.
Last night, we had the group "candlefuse" play at our SYATP post-rally.
Don't get 'em.
- They are not at all time-conscious.
They went 40 minutes long and only left ten minutes for our speaker.
And yes, they were given a time frame.
I'm very specific.
I guess they though the gospel presentation wasn't important, or maybe they didn't think...I don't know.
I've worked with scores of groups that understand this point very well.
These guys don't.
- They didn't spend as much time with the kids as they should.
This particular venue was conducive to the band "hanging out" with the students.
It appeared they didn't want to do that.
- Without going into too much detail, I have questions about whether or not they are accountable to a local body of believers.
This is a big red flag for me.
Maybe you'd enjoy the music, I don't know...but no way I would ever bring this bunch in for any worship-oriented event.
Just putting out the warning.
Thanks.

Thanks for the heads-up.
Did you express your concerns to them?

Yes...the time issue was "dude, we're sorry...we didn't know we went so long."
(Lame)
The accountability issue was addressed.
Haven't talked to them about the spending time with kids...I was too mad to talk to them much last night.
