Yes ... in fact I have read most of Grisham's books. I like him very much.
I doubt that it is possible to have accurate statistics on innocents who have been executed. Few cases are reopened once a person has been executed.
In the state of Illinois during one period of time, I forget how long, 12 people were found innnocent and released and during the same period 12 were executed.
That is accurate. Overall it costs more in the States to go through the process and execution of a person than keeping them in jail for life.
