If you and me were making you a care package; and it could be for fun or survival....however you would like it...what would we put in your care package? Now mind you, it can't be toooo big. No bigger than a Bananna box.
Now already placed in this care package is your Bible, a note pad and pen, a blanket, a jug of water, and a flash light.
Remember...your photo albums may take up all the room....and then, they may all not fit. This care package can be things you want, or things you have. Please specify.
I am going to wait until at least 10 people post before I say mine. Because I am busy helping you pack yours. and I will need a small break then. ;)

Sherrie, I've never heard of a banana box. I tried using my search engine and can't seem to find out why it's called that or how big it is.
It seems to be a term that is used on the other side of the country more than here? Would you mind telling me how big it is?
I would love to play.

A banana box is a box that the grocer gets banana's in. Comes with a top box, that slides off. Probably 36 in. x 16 in.
Sherrie -
Okay...that's a small box. Guess I won't be able to fit my computer, a generator and a telephone pole huh?
A down pillow
Ear plugs
Sun Glasses
Reading Glasses (2Xmagnification)
A couple of hardcover books to read
Advil
Fibercon
A change of cloths
A nightgown
Dove Soap
Pantene shampoo and conditioner
Colgate Whitening Toothpaste
Cinnamon Flavored Dental Floss
A Comb, brush and hair dryer
An Atra Razor
Blistex stick
Yogurt Covered Almonds
Cashews
Starbucks Mocha Frapacino
Think it'll all fit? That was fun...wish other people would play too. :D

editted to add a couple of things. ;)

If I can't take my photo albums, I ain't goin'!
Now, I am taking TWO banana boxes. One for my photo albums (hope they all fit) and in the other box I would put...
another jug of water for washing (oops, don't need that, I will be by a creek)
bar of soap (cleanliness is next to.....)
shampoo (the kind that gives you an organic do)
towel and washcloth
make-up (you never know)
body lotion (must stay soft)
Bic razor (scratch that, no one will know)
tape player, tapes and batteries (gotta have music)
sleeping bag and pillow (guess I'm gonna camp)
change of clothes (can beat other set on rocks)
fishing pole
can of corn (for bait, don't do worms)
several cans of spam
bunsen burner to heat spam (cause I never catch any fish)
box of Ritz crackers
some kind of chocolate (ANY kind of chocolate!)
gun (in case of bears)
ID bracelet (in case gun doesn't work)
2 cans of OFF (skeered of West Nile virus)
and last but not least.........lots of CHARMIN
Wanna come with? I will let you look at my photo albums!
Sue -
I was going to say Charmin too, but I thought the Fibercon was pushing it as far as too much information.
-
Generator??
Fibercon??
Give me the basics ya'll listed--plus toothpaste and toothbrush--I can't go to sleep without brushin' my teeth at nite!!
I've moved in my career--over 6 times in 12 years!! I know how many library books I can cram in a bananna box--just give me room for the following authors---John Phillips, Stephen Olford, Adrian Rogers, and John MacArthor---I
can "rough" it the rest of the way--except I gotta have Quilted Northern!!

After the soot fire (Jan 02) - there were several things I went looking for; (my wife looked for the cats - all there) - the condition of my computer (did not preach from Romans again until I had a new one); the camera equipment (it was all OK - the bags were just a little dirty); and two or three things to wear the next day or two.
PS - we are still not back to normal - stuff is still packed in boxes - am beginning to think we'll never get back to normal. -- have learned that there is a lot of stuff we never use - and probably don't need - but will probably never part with til the Lord takes me out of here. -
I'm so sorry to hear that Bro. Dan. I once knew someone who's car burned while he was in the process of moving. The biggest loss were all his children's school pictures and family albumns. Lost forever in the fire. I hope that you all get comfortable again. But I doubt that something like a fire, will ever make you get back to normal again.
God Bless You,
Charlotte
Okay, what would I like in a care package?
A laptop computer would be nice. I prefer Mac thank you.
A bottle of wine
a wine glass
a nice pillow, down with a feather core would be preferrable.
a portable CD player, Sony is the best.
A dozen or so CD's, preferable blues, celtic and classical, although a CD by Reba MacIntyr and one by Martina MacBride would be fabulous too.
A nice air matress with an automatic pump.
and as many good books as you can fit in there.
Well, you asked. This banana box is going to be pretty expensive. But wishes aren't incumbered by financial concerns are they?
God Bless You,

I guess my package couldn't be beat. Oh well. Didn't mean to post a thread stopper Sherrie.
